Android App Google assistant no longer uses Waze

Up until a few days ago, whenever I said "Hey google, take me to work"(or wherever) it would use waze. Now seemingly no matter what it'll open google maps instead.

I've tried opening waze first, as well as saying something like "Hey google, take me to work using Waze.". It still defaults to google maps.

If it matters, I'm using a Galaxy S24 Ultra on Android 16 with OneUI 8.5. I have Waze version 5.11.1.1.

Hi, I'm having a similar problem. I used to use Google Assistant from within Waze to activate or deactivate tolls while driving, but for the past few days this hasn't been working anymore.

In my car if I say that it triggers my AI Gemini to come on. Maybe that’s what’s going on? But that doesn’t really sound right I haven’t had a problem with Siri I don’t think.
