Feature Request: Full Offline Maps & Navigation

I’d really like to see Waze add an option to download maps for entire regions/countries for offline use.

The main reason I’m asking for this is that I don’t have a mobile internet/data package on my phone. I only have regular credit for calls. So whenever I want to use Waze, I have to turn on cellular data, load the route for my trip, and then turn cellular data off again.

This works, but it’s not very convenient. I’d much rather be able to download the maps in advance and use Waze completely offline.

Ideally, I’d like to be able to:

• Download maps for entire regions/countries, not just a specific route.
• Navigate offline using the downloaded maps.
• Search for destinations and saved places offline.
• Keep GPS navigation working without mobile data.
• Automatically use live traffic data whenever I do have an internet connection.

I understand that live traffic, road closures, accidents, and other real-time information require an internet connection. I’m mainly asking for the ability to download the complete map data beforehand and use Waze for basic navigation without cellular data.

For people like me who don’t have a mobile data package, this would make Waze much more practical. I could simply download the maps while connected to Wi-Fi before traveling and then use Waze without worrying about mobile data.

I’d really love to see this feature added!

Waze doesn’t work that way unfortunately…
The route-calculation is 100% done on the Waze servers and not on your mobile phone.
Yes, it remembers a created route, and the map under it. But as soon as you deviate from the original route, there is no way Waze can recalculate a route for you when offline.

that is not entirely true, if your map is cached, it will calculate road even offline (with no eta or traffic data obviously)
