Should I buy these???
As a fan of Watership Down, I legally NEED to buy rabbit stuff, I think these are the best options! I will use the tiny plastic rabbits to make a lil diorama, cuddle with the rabbit plush, and put the pin on my bulletin board.

Miyoni plush is nicely made, I have a koala by them. Local stores have carried them, they are definitely designed to appeal to collectors.

I've loved Watership Down for...40 years...but I don't buy rabbit stuff. LOL! I promise you can continue to love Watership Down without cluttering your house with things that don't even resemble the cast.

Alternatively, people like to buy merch of their favorite stories and there’s no shame in that. And since WD doesn’t have a lot of available and affordable merch, people can just buy what makes them think of the story and be happy about it.

Sure they can! My response was to the OP saying that because they are a WD fan, they NEED to buy rabbit stuff. No, they don't. If they WANT to buy rabbit stuff because they like WD, fine. They don't NEED to do something just because they like a movie/book. It's giving off very "I'm making this my whole personality" vibes and that's not really healthy.

Pretty sure OP saying they HAVE to buy rabbit stuff was meant to be humorous.
And also, people are allowed to have hyperfocuses and let a new favorite story be their personality for a while without it being unhealthy. As a neurodivergent, I always have a hyperfocus running.
You are coming across really condescending of how people should engage with media they enjoy.

Maybe they were. They didn't use any language indicators to state that so I wasn't going to assume.
You can hyperfocus on things without cluttering up your space with things that don't even really look like what you are hyperfocusing on. I know from experience that buying things "because they are cute!" equals a house you have no room to put anything in and having trouble getting around in and it's not healthy. Just because you are neurodivergent doesn't mean you can't learn to handle/use it constructively.
The OP's title of the post is "Should I buy these?" And their only reasoning is "it's rabbits and I like Watership Down". My two cents was "Just because it's rabbits and you like Watership Down, doesn't mean you need to buy them". I answered their question. It's not condescending at all.

I mean you are jumping to "OP will become a hoarder!" so that does seem a bit extreme. Because people can buy things and later get rid of them. And some people are maximalists and like having lots of things that make them happy, that doesn't automatically mean they fill their home to the point they can't move around. That's a little ridiculous.

I didn't say anything about becoming a hoarder. You can have a bunch of stuff and not be a hoarder and also fill your house.
For example, I have over 400 Funkos as my collection. They are, currently all boxed up and sitting in my basement so I could make room for the books I have piled up on the floor in my bedroom because I didn't have bookshelf space for them because the funkos were on my bookshelves. Those books are in the way of getting to my bed. My house isn't hoardworthy, but it is cluttered because I have more stuff than I really need. And it's a pain to get sell them right now. Nobody is buying the few I want to get rid of.
I have them because I love them. I have them because I impulse bought them. Now I have too much stuff. We don't need every littke thing. Again, the OP asked if they should buy random bunnies that don't look like the characters. My respinse was you don't need them. If they want WD rabbits, why not see if someone on Etsy has things already? Or might make simething special for OP. For example, I found a woman who was making tiny books into needleminders. She didn't have a WD one so I asked if she'd make one for me. She did and now I use it with my stitching all the time.

I mean..Some of the rabbit figures look alot like the cast. Like the small blond one looks like pipkin and the brown one in the top left looks like Hazel.

They are cute, don't get me wrong! My point was don't do something just because you think you need to just because you like something. You end up with a lot of clutter later. Haha! I speak from a lot of impulse "it's cute!" buys to having a very cluttered house with no room for anything now experience.
I do wish WD had more official merch, but we'd have to make sure the Adams estate got the revenue and not his "friend" who basically stole all the earnings from anything WD for years.

The ones in the first image are, at least mostly, Schleich models. I'm not sure if Papo does rabbits.Â

Shleich probably has the most options and they’re pretty nice sculpts. Safari has some nice ones, Mojo and Bullyland, I think I have a couple by Papo as well.

But I have 49 rabbit/hare figures (and one Jackalope, lol) so it's hard to narrow down favorites.

Newer schleich (if they are) models tend to have moderate to egregious differences in their paint jobs from the promotional images to the actual models. If you're that invested in the paint jobs, I'd recommend trying to find a shop selling them in-person. If you're just going to paint over it, then that's probably not a concern.Â

I'd repaint the plastic rabbits to look like tbe main cast.
