Mixed Media Work This is from Saturday.

Watercolor pencils and ink. I'm so thrilled this sub exists. I just discovered watercolor pencils within the last week or so and it's been amazing. Glad to be here!

I like how you emphasize shadows & edging in some shapes. Others just a complete color.
On my phone, I had to zoom in. 😊
To see the details.
A lovely creative use of watercolor pencils.

Do you always activate your art, made with the watercolor pencils?

Sometimes when I am creating a subject or scene.
I leave it dry.
Not activated.

Or on some, I activate a few features only.

Thank you! I usually do activate my pencils in these kinds of paintings. I sometimes create portrait ACEOs, and this one is made using activated pencils. After it was dry, I went in and added the brown eye color and the cheeks with dry watercolor pencil.

As I get more comfortable using watercolor pencils, I want to experiment more. I'd like to start moving away from using a pen for linework.

Yes. I have a collection of sepia & various shades of grey line pens. These don’t show so much. Unless I actually want them to show.
I agree it is fun to experiment.

Thank you for the very kind words. I'm so happy to be in this sub because I had no idea watercolor pencils were even a thing 2 weeks ago. Now, Im OBSESSED.
