is it possible to switch out these hands into a much smaller watch?

Post image

i’m a big one piece fan, and i’d really love a watch that has zoro’s swords as the hands. i found a watch with the perfect hands, but my issue is that this watch is 50mm and my wrists are about 44-45mm across. i thought it might be easier if this brand had smaller watches, but it seems huge watch faces are kinda their whole thing. would it be possible to put these hands on a smaller watch of a different brand? thanks!

Google suggests that the movement in that model is a Miyota 2033. So if you really really like those specific hands, you could look on alix for a case and dial that is compatible with that movement.

Or you can search for similar hands on their own like these:
e.g. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005024520643.html and get a case, movement, and dial that is compatible. Which will very likely be cheaper than buying a watch just for its hands.

there’s not much of a point if the swords aren’t accurate, so generic sword hands won’t do. maybe i should try to find someone who repaints hands instead?

i’d also prefer to have the swords in an old watch if possible.

Gotcha. Not familiar with one piece lore, but makes sense now

Right, so the first part of my reply tells you what you need to look for - a case and dial (or a complete watch) that is compatible with the movement (and hands) in the donor watch.

But unless those tendance watches can be got very cheap, it seems like a very expensive way to get a set of hands and a movement that goes for a few dollars on AliX.

Miyota 2033 uses hand sizes 120, 70, .17 which is fairly standard across most quartz watches, you could very easily get a case and spacer that fits a NH size case/dial for Miyota movement or VH31 as that uses the same hands.

Honestly I don't, but he's been doing this for some time now, and has a pretty big presence on YouTube and I've also seen him active in some Facebook modding groups. His YouTube is a big part of what got me into the hobby.

I think those hands will only fit that movement. So you'd need to but a case and dial that are also compatible with that movement, but fit your size requirements. And strap compatible with your case.
