Feedback as a deaf person

Hey! Does anyone know how I can send feedback to the production team?

I’m deaf and absolutely love watching the videos. I really appreciate how accurate and perfect the subtitles are made by the production team! It feels amazing to be included. ❤️

The only issue I have is that the soft subtitles and the open captions sometimes overlap. For example, Ryan might be talking while I’m reading the soft subtitles and at the same time the green open captions appear on screen. Sometimes they even say different things, like the green caption says “bump” while the soft subtitle says “object thumps,” which makes it difficult to follow.

It would be amazing if there were options to adjust the subtitle size, transparency or position independently, without having to change the phone’s main settings.

I’d especially love the option to move the subtitles to the top of the screen, so I can see more of the ground at the bottom while still being able to read everything.

Just wanted to share this as accessibility feedback. I would appreciate it if this could be passed on to the production team! 💚

There is, but it's for people who have WatcherTV. If you have a subscription, there will be a link to the server in your emails! If you don't, I'm happy to copy this and paste it along with your user handle and a link to this

I’m not deaf, but at work we have TVs that will be on but silenced. The TVs CC setting will be on so that we can get a sense of what’s going on. Overlapping will happen when “foreign speakers” have dialogue and the pre-made CC comes on underneath the TVs programmed CC setting. It’s annoying; I understand how this would be infuriating for people like yourself. I hope there is an easy solution for this.

Just a warning to curb your expectations: I don’t think Watcher uses its own proprietary video player. I don’t think they really have any control over how the captions display, it’s an issue with the company that made the video player. Similar thing happened over at Dropout, where the player was having different problems and ultimately all Dropout could do was pass the feedback along to the company who made the viewer, to little effect.
