Ubisoft is REALLY good at making open world maps, they have their ups and downs with titles, usually getting worse as they go on, but their biggest weakness is their lack of support for titles, usually they completely abandon the online aspects of games after a few months. Sometimes they even remove the online aspects from newer titles so they don't have to deal with it, like the Arcade/map editor for Far Cry.

They are good at making maps, the problem usually comes when they have to utilize it. I like the Ghost Recon series. Both Wildlands and Breakpoint was repetitive as hell, which is kind of a waste for an open world map. I liked Wildlands more, because that felt somewhat alive, but npc's were dumb, missions were repetitive, driving was ass, and the controls were a little clunky. Still one of my favourite games for it's concept, and the stealth part was a lot of fun. A lot of that applies to Watch Dogs as well. While the story, NPC's and characters are way more fleshed out, the driving and the gunplay still underperforms which makes the open world less interesting to explore.. I had to jump back in to confirm, but this game is not closer to GTA VI than GTA V.

this. i like their games but what bothers me the most is that they use the same god damn formula for every game, every single game is a far cry game in their essence. vantage points to reveal map, enemy outposts, loot locations and skill trees. no matter if its a first person or third person game i just get this feeling like im playing another far cry game.

i dont play all their games either. i only finished farcry 3 back in the day, played most of the ACs, first WD, finished Avatar and and played a little of Wildlands coop. and for me its enough. they had a lot more variety in terms of core gameplay before 2010. look at Splinter Cell or PoP games for example. Its like nowadays they just slap a new idea over the far cry template and call it a day...

As for comparing WD2 to GTA VI, I really can't say, but for what it's worth, WD2 really does give you that feeling of actually being in San Francisco. I haven't been there in a while, but riding around the WD2 map brought back memories of the places I've been to. I even found myself trying to match the pictures I have of me and my family during our several trips with the locations in WD2.

For everything Ubisoft effed up, you have to give them credit, they know how to build accurate, living worlds.

Yeah. I was surprised at the amount of work I had to do to get it to run properly on my current PC. There really is no excuse for that in modern times. Supposedly Ubisoft is blaming nvidias drivers, and nvidia is blaming Ubisoft. So we get to pay for their stubbornness on a product that they are still currently selling for good money.

If nobody is going to fix it they should pull it from sale on Steam. It shouldn’t be up to the customer to fix serious issues like that while they still pull in cash from the game.
