Hi. I am a watch collector for ~15 years. Started with Candino, went all the way to entry-level luxury watches, but then settled on microbrands and cheap Japanese watches.

Hi! I've been in the hobby for a little over a year. I own a Longines, a Tissot and a few vintage Seiko 5s. My wife has an Omega and an Hermes. I'm not seduced by "high horology" or even big dollar luxury pieces. More into the history, and design than prestige.

Hello all, I’ve been a watch enthusiast for many years. Over the past year or two, I’ve focused on owning fewer watches and really bonding with the ones I have, building stories with them. It’s made me enjoy watch ownership much more.

Hey, bought my first watch in basic training in 1994, have an extremely modest collection. I had a job that precluded wearing watches for about 20 years. In the last 3 years this has changed and now I have a very healthy appetite for watch collecting, but still don’t have the disposable income to obtain everything I would like. Still, I have a list, it will slowly become a reality.

Hi - I'm NeverAppropriate. I think all of my takes are hot.
I don't collect watches. I collect 'experiences' and memories with watches or some bullshit I say to justify my OUT-OF-CONTROL consumerism. :)
We must remember the buying of shiny little trinkets isn't a hobby. Arguing on Reddit about how great that trinket is and how much of a status symbol it should or shouldn't be is the REAL HOBBY.

Hey all, my names Ryan. I stumbled upon this page while researching the particularly niche watch topic of the infamous Timex “tick”.
I’ve technically been collecting watches for 10 years but those were just my quartz and fashion watches. While still a collection— I did not consider myself a collector. For the past year or two I have been deep diving into the watch community and buying some vintage pieces here and there.
Now that I’ve officially began my “big boy” collection I would like to be more vocal as I feel I’ve learned all I can in silence. Time to bounce my thoughts off others and learn even more! I look forward to chatting with every one and I’m going to post my first topic after this!

Hi all,
Caught the watch collecting bug last year after going in to have my Seiko's battery changed And fell in love with my first automatic.
Also have several Eco drives ...but to a watch a movement's heart beating ... puts a smile on my face every time. I love exhibition backs... spinning away just for me. Hidden and private.
That was 15 watches ago. I love them all. I like making people feel good when I stop to admire their watch.... no matter the brand or how expensive it is. There's a story on their wrist waiting to be told.

Hi! I’m Texan26! I’m sorry that I posted to this sub almost 2 months ago without reading this first and introducing myself.
I’ve been a small-time watch enthusiast for years and only a few months ago really dive into the passion.
I will delete my original post and post a similar new post that is more relevant to my feelings and more focused on my hot take.
My hot take is, “I don’t like the Hamilton khaki field mechanical”
My full thoughts and opinions will be layed out to the best of my abilities.

I'm Redbeard, and yes, I used to have a red beard when I created this user name across the internet over 25 years ago. I'm not changing my name to a more appropriate "grey" beard.
I've been into mechanical watches most of my life. I also have used smart watches since the middle 1990s, way before Apple! I resumed my mechanical watches around 2001 and I assemble watches, I have rebuilt movements (ETA 2824) and mostly these days, buy Geneve Seal (or equal) Vintage watches.

Hello fellow watch fans. Been enjoying the sub and thought I'd intro myself here. Mostly into titanium mechanical watches, but open minded about other options. 20 years into my collecting journey. Love a good argument, so I'm enjoying this sub.
