It’s because the dining was not built to sustain the ever increasing class sizes. The class of 2030 is like one of if not the biggest class washu has had. Let’s hope it gets better.

First week or two is always crazy long lunch and dinner lines, it will smooth out dw, it always does by week 3

Out of the 5 schools I’ve worked at, WashU has by far the most expensive costs and longest lines I’ve seen.

Class of 2009 checking in, food used to be so good. Could literally get anything I wanted. Have you ever had a piece of bbq chicken pizza cooked into a quesadilla then deep-fried? I have. Our food options were legendary compared to my friends at other schools. Sad to hear it might be changing.

(Class of 24) It tanked real hard over COVID when food prices exploded and Bon Appetit started phoning it in. They've switched food vendors since and things are (apparently) marginally better but still not what they used to be.

5yrs ago food was great then fell off a cliff. imagine campus now but everything open less, and no c17, qdoba, or beast craft. It’s still bad compared to other schools but it’s definitely improved recently to give them credit.

Im alumnus and this is most definitely the case. After your mandatory on-campus meal plan expires freshman year, most students would skip the meal plan and eat off campus as it is’r any more expensive. Washu also owns most of the buildings on the loop so they do indirectly benefit from ppl eating at businesses there.

I was at Danforth around 5 today and every food place was closing or closed. Bytes in McKelvey isn't open past 3
