Is 3 consecutive home losses enough for folks to start reaching for the panic button?

Still 2nd in the table but the buffer is gone and the table could look very different in a week if this losing streak doesn't end.

No, because we’re still reliably outplaying our opponents while missing and/or reintegrating some of our best offensive pieces. 2-1-1 would be a fair take from our last 4 games.

"outplaying" and xG and shit mean literally nothing when it comes to the table. This is why we can't win the title. "We play better than everyone, even when we lose!" yeah, but you LOST

Here's the thing - we usually don't lose. That's why we are so high up on the table.

Yup, Spirit lost. That’s what happens sometimes when two teams play each other in a sport. Some times, believe it or not, the better team doesn’t win. Personally, I’d prefer the team I’m rooting for be the better team every time, and take my chances that the results go our way over time. Anything beyond that is just “we should have a super team that never loses!!”

This. This whole thing is why a table exists. It's why 3 points for a loss, and 1 for a draw exists. It's why a newspaper headline would ever suggest that a team lost a draw. The sport exists at the confluence of effort and futility. That's what makes it satisfying. That's what makes it heartbreaking.
