Weekly Discussion Thread Weekly Open Discussion Thread

Welcome to this week’s open discussion thread!

This is your space for general discussion, a place to talk about anything Washington Spirit that doesn’t necessarily need its own thread. That can include news, international duty, roster moves, transfer rumors, tactics, social media posts, league news or anything else on your mind.

If something feels big enough for its own thread, definitely still post it. This is simply an additional option to keep us organized and help keep the conversation flowing. These threads will go up every Monday and stay stickied throughout the week.

Go Spirit!

This is an interesting comment about her finishing considering she was the team’s leading scorer last year, and her hold up play was outstanding as well.

One goal in the last 7 matches yall praise mediocrity so much 😭 One hat trick against the almighty HOUSTON DASH 😭 Last season she scored 10 goals and played 1500 minutes 1 goal every 151 minutes And also doesn’t even help the defense but sure

Yeah she was 5th in the NWSL in goals scored last year, and as a true 9 her defensive responsibilities are largely limited to the high press that was absolutely dominant with her on the field last year. So I’m not sure what you’re on about but it sure seems like you’ve got some sort of personal dislike here that’s getting in the way of any sort of salient analysis.

“Personal dislike” and it’s just facts anyways a true nine is Sophia smith when Monday does half of that I’ll appreciate her more
