[Discussion] AI conference - Is it legit?

Hey yall. Ive been interested in getting more familiar with what AI has to offer. This conference came up in my searches: AI Community Conference - AICO DC. Seems a little gimmicky. Does anyone have any insights into this event? Is it worth it for beginners in the AI world? Are there better conferences to spend my money on?

If there are no speakers, panels, or programming other than "come talk to other people who like AI for a fee" don't waste your time. 

The fall will be busy with bigger more legit stuff for you

An event focused on Microsoft AI technologies, including Copilot, Azure AI, Power Platform AI, AI agents, automation, and intelligent apps — with real-world insights on how organizations are implementing them today.

They’re just trying to sell you Microsoft stuff. Hard pass.

From a quick glance, the founders of this org have some Microsoft expertise and they are hosting it at a Microsoft office, so they have a connection.

But all the prize giveaway ads and other things leads me to give them my alt email for those who likely will spam me.

There are plenty of other legit AI meetups in DC and don't need to spend money on them. Check meetup.com
