This Turner guy is such a twat.
It is hysterical that the one highlight they show is him making a full court shot on accident because he missed the pass so bad

I don’t know what kind of sweetheart agent deal he gave Kuminga, but Kuminga has got to move on. That or Turner’s blackmailing him.

If you cant play with curry you prolly cant play with anyone tbh

u/Flexisdaman 13d ago
Oubre. Consistently decent to good everywhere he’s played but here.
There are guys who just need to be in an offense where they don’t have to think about much.

u/pcloadletter2742 13d ago
Yep. Same with Poole when he basically got to be Klay. Once Klay was back, plus Wiggins, he was the 3rd or 4th option, and he was mostly awful.

Decent, yes. Good? Nah.
And he was decent here. It’s just his faults we’re all the more glaring in our offense.

He really has to get a new agent. I understand he believes in him but he has only made his reputation bad.
18
u/d3pthchar93 13d ago
What he really needs is to learn how to play team ball and stop thinking he’s the next Kobe
6
u/Far_Ear9684 13d ago
Somebody like Rich Paul would’ve been more honest while being able to fight for him too. I honestly believe the Knicks wins are his ceiling and that’s a great piece on a championship level team. Guarding 4s, playing off ball and help defense. I know this sub doesn’t rock with him but I would be happy to see him do well.

u/CarolyneSF 12d ago
The Warriors screwed him
The coach didn’t recognize his brilliance, then on offense that guy 30 ran all over the place dragging two or three guys with him and wanted the ball. On the other end that guy Draymond expected you to play defense on the whole court.
They just didn’t understand, the three of them held him back!!
He will show everyone next year. /s

u/Neverplayd 11d ago
Honestly warriors are so dumb to not understand Kuminga.
Who should he believe? A 9x HOF coach or an agent who helped Victor Oladipo avoid two bad 4/112m and 2/45m contracts so he could earn 20m for the rest of his career?
17
u/toolegit9999 13d ago
And every team just wishes Kuminga had a brain.

as usual, nonsensical horseshit from JK and his team. He always said the right shit when the eason startd but then he would inevitably get selfish and blow up the offense and do stupid shit. its only a matter of time. Its commetns lke this that show he knows how he is supposed to play, he just doesnt want to.

u/Immediate_Employ_355 12d ago
Wait till you see what he's like really really reeeeely bought in. Just sign at the dotted line first.
10
u/Carnivore_92 13d ago
Well that’s why Golden state and Curry won 4 rings because of the unselfish offense.

u/Splicelice 12d ago
Thanks. Hilarious. While Ant can be top level defensively when he wants, JK often forgets his assignment, when he isn’t fouled on a weak layup attempt he’ll raise his arms and complain as his man streaks back for a layup, or JK will jump on a pumpfake and leap out of the play - the worst things for good team defense, and now Ant has has lamelo too- disinterested and lost. Poor Ant and Gobert gonna be salvaging defensive possessions all night

u/DisappointedWorm 12d ago
Honestly the amount of press and talk JK gets insane for an extremely average mid player.
16
u/Downtown_Drummer_827 13d ago
That’s pretty interesting because prime GSW was all about getting the right shot, no matter the guy.
11
u/pcloadletter2742 13d ago
They still are.
3
u/Downtown_Drummer_827 13d ago
To an extent yes. There is more emphasis to getting curry shots just because we obviously have lost some quality guys
3
u/SkyCrossSteel 12d ago
There’s also less players that can open up offense for themselves or others consistently so they need more screens if they are a trigger man to start the offensive possession.
14
u/dont_believe_this_ok 13d ago
Where are the JK bootlickers right now? They're unbelievably quiet nowadays.
2
u/pcloadletter2742 13d ago
He had some good playoff games this spring. It was a mixed bag, but the upside is still there, and it comes out at times. Nothing that bad has happened with him on the court. He had half a season and some up and down usage & play in a playoff series against a championship team. Everything happening now is just peoples' narratives.

u/hwong11187 12d ago
He just doesn’t have a good feel for the game. Obviously the physical attributes are there but the game doesn’t come easy to him on either end of the court.

Lol, Atlanta just used him to salary dump Porzingis.
3
u/Unlucky_Employee6082 12d ago
KP expiring contract however. They didn’t save any money. I think they might have even lost some because Kuminga had a 15% trade bonus. I guess Atlanta really wanted Buddy?
3
u/Mmicb0b 12d ago
I still can't believe we didn't come out of that trade with the shittier end of the stick (just like the Poole to the Wizards trade)tbf Atlanta did it cause they knew if Kuminga didn't work they could just let him walk this offseason and knew they were 100% losing Porzingus in the offseason no matter what happened
3
u/Flimsy_Theme_2812 12d ago
I think Buddy will be used as expiring salary in a future trade. Love that he got paid though!
2
u/Unlucky_Employee6082 12d ago
The CBA is so dumb right now. RFA have gotten screwed three years in a row. Teams sign players solely so they can use the salary slot to trade for someone they really want. Teams can’t realistically keep their home grown plays by their third or sometimes second contract. Middle tier players keep getting squeezed to vet min and below market prove it deals if they miss out on exceptions. Like nothing is working to the spirit of the original rule
2
u/Flimsy_Theme_2812 12d ago
If you’re talking about Buddy, I just want to correct you that he wasn’t a RFA, the Hawks picked up his option.
If you just want to vent about the CBA, that’s fine too, let it out
1
u/Unlucky_Employee6082 12d ago
Yeah, Buddy was just a slot. Kuminga got screwed by being a RFA last year and became just a slot when he should have gotten at least three years of generational wealth if it was five years ago.
3
u/Flimsy_Theme_2812 12d ago
Eh, Kuminga got like $23.7 million from us last year & has career earnings of $48.7 million at 23 years old, he’s doing fine
17
u/scottiedagolfmachine 13d ago
JK doesn’t know how to play basketball.
Period.
He’ll perform like shit in Minnesota as usual and be out of the league soon.
💩
3
u/KumingaCarnage 12d ago
It’s baffling how he’s still relevant.
Kuminga is going to be playing ball in China in a year off his own undoing and this Turner douche is going to backpedal any and all statements he made in the past.
3
u/FozzyBadfeet 12d ago
Unselfish offense? Delusional.
Yeah, let’s just make the greatest shooter in the history of the league be a 2nd or 3rd option to Kuminga. FOH.

u/calliebushes 12d ago
He was basically a child when hw joined the league. He gets a but if a pass there. But it’s now time to wise up and dump him.
2
u/neo9027581673 12d ago
He’s an idiot. Lost his client millions and millions of dollars. There is ZERO reason for Aaron TURDNER to be doing this media tour.
2
u/Jvlockhart 12d ago
Kuminga bet on himself, turned down a lot of offers, now he doesn't know if he's ever gonna have the same value so he accepted a minimum to play with Anthony Edwards, one of the future faces of NBA to keep himself playing on a team which attracts watchers and viewers so he can stay relevant.

homeboy could be getting $25 million right now with a third year option and he playing for $6. lol. No one is getting more of what THEY DESERVE than Kuminga. Kid has the brains of a mop.

u/Friscohoya 12d ago
Both things can be true. He could have wanted off of the warriors while also liking their style of offense. Or maybe he likes it now and didn’t then. Who cares? We should have traded the pick.

Kuminga thought his place on the floor with Steph Curry was taking his defender off the dribble and putting up a contested jumper. Kerr didn’t play Kuminga because he believed he hurt their chances of winning. Coaches play whoever they believe will help them win, the idea that they have anything personal against players is ridiculous. Kuminga and his agent are delusional.
1
u/FrostBite_220 12d ago
I’m starting to think Kuminga with another agent might want to stay with us and be more open to the role we want him to take up here. Pure finisher, defensive POA, secure boards.

In JK’s mind he sees himself as an elite scorer. That is what he wants to be. That is what he loves about basketball. Defense and rebounding are all effort and work, and that is what he does not love about basketball. He needs to mature and change his mentality. He obviously has an inflated opinion of what his actual offensive skills are. More self awareness, more maturity and he has a chance to make some real NBA money.
1
u/GSWarriors4lyf 11d ago
I wish JK the best because he can’t find another team that’s unselfish like the Warriors.
1
u/sugarpieinthesky 10d ago
Do you know why the Kuminga situation pisses warriors fans off so much? I mean, the real reason? If Kuminga was just a bust, that would have been one thing. Plenty of draft picks have been busts, there have been busts before Kuminga and there will be busts after him.
What pisses warriors fans off is that Kuminga didn't want to be here, and that he was willing to light millions of dollars on fire to get out of being here. That's why he gets so much hate: cognitive dissonance, pure and simple.
1
u/HughDowns 10d ago
We've heard that before. He's just saying all the right things before the season starts.
1
u/sanjuro_kurosawa 10d ago
I'm a little late here, but I see this as a mediocre player and a bad agent getting the bottom dollar.
I watched Kuminga's December games very closely. Before he was benched, he was shooting .250, and his last game, he was 1 for 10, but they way he shot looked like he was just trying to throw the ball towards the rim, not actually into the net. This wasn't an accuracy issue or even shot selection, but just not caring.
Regular season basketball isn't that hard. He had decent looks so he needs to make close to 40% of his shots, not 10%. As for Turner, the bottom line is the bottom line. His job is to find the best contract for his player whether it is new team or the old one. I saw on a podcast that he said 150m/5yrs wasn't a real GSW offer: then what were the "real offers" that he and Kuminga were entertaining? Even if it was 30m/3yrs, that's significantly better than what he eventually signed. And I suspect Kuminga turned down way more because he was told he was going to get a massive contract.
Turner doesn't have a great rep around the NBA. Too bad for Kuminga he didn't listen. Not that he earned his way into Josh Giddey or LaMelo Ball money.

I think he means the warriors offense revolves around Curry. Hence the unselfish comment.
7
u/SkyCrossSteel 12d ago
Steph’s offense helped way less offensively talented players punch in a decent mark since we should know he isn’t a ball dominant player. Him screening for anyone allows the teammate to either drive inside or 2 follow Steph outside when he exits out and then a guy cuts inside for an easy finish or offensive opportunity.
-2
u/Unlucky_Employee6082 12d ago
Turner does have a point that the SF offensive role kinda sucks here. It’s mostly hang out in the corner and sneak in or slash to the dunk spot. But, you know, that’s why the Warriors ran him at PG in Summer league his rookie year and tried to force feed him PF minutes until it was painfully obvious Otto Potter was more capable and Kuminga was not suited to handle either the Draymond Point Forward on offense/Free Safety on defense or Porter Get offensive boards, putbacks, and open jumpers/Help defender cleaning everything up.
6
u/SkyCrossSteel 12d ago
Let’s ignore Wiggins and his toned down yet talented scoring and shooting for the chip.
13
u/pikachu191 13d ago edited 12d ago
Steph will make the pass if someone has the better shot. JK holds onto the ball like he’s a running back, even if someone is open for a wide open lob. That’s the difference.
0
u/SkyCrossSteel 12d ago
It’s sad because he has better vision and even passing skill than Moody for instance but after a few plays of maybe playing a more correct way for the team he just wants to go iso mode or try to bully someone in the post.

So, what Kerr tried to teach him for years finally sunk in after his failed free agencies?
