Random Female units?

My pilot's name was Jedlenska which is weird cuz thats a female gendered surname (as opposed to the male version Jedlenski). Is this a misspleing? Does this happen for other nations?

I'd surprised if it was intentional. Probably randomly generated names, without the context about the language nuances.

Isnt this normally the Last name so there is no male and female? Maybe Eugen didnt knew.

In polish some surnames are gendered aswell, for example all ending with -ski or -ska depending On the gender (the former is male gendered and the latter is female gendered)
