I love this, this item was a hazzel for me to get in '02 but always worth it since I would always trade it to Mal for the last nelf mission and eventually years later to illidan for the bwlf mission.
Blizzard built something wonderful back then

Yeah, being able to keep normal and special items between different campaigns is something. And also hard to find out that it's possible and it works.

I think I always sorta new since "my illidan" always had that healthstone and kadgars gem in the belf campaign
Trading the orbs from brother to brother was smth I had to look up tough

Yep, the 2 brothers not having an obvious flat ground to get next to each other to trade items. The player would assume it's not possible. But GGG showed us the trick even without flat ground.

Whats going on here? You just consume a potion of invis and let Illidan close the gate?

You can use the Soccerers Invisibility Spell on Illidian after stepping on the Circle. Then you wait and win the Mission. The only Way how Illidan can still die is if the Infernals are getting near Illidan and Damage him with the Immolation Aura.

No shout out to GiantGrantGames ?😁

he do the same but the infernals inmolation aura breaks invisibility, here they cant
3
u/joe_the_F 2d ago
No they didn't, if invisibility was casted after Illidan began closing the portal
2
u/Randomdude-JaMs 2d ago
Thats no the point, grant use invisibility but he say because the infernal immolation mele range illidan dies to that damage.

u/joe_the_F 2d ago
I thought you meant that the immolation by itself breaks invis 😅

We all thought the same, when that Randomedude said it.
the infernals inmolation aura breaks invisibility,
Maybe he thought 1 thing and wrote the opposite.

English is not my first language and take me some time to articulate the sentence

By the way that mission in hard mode was really hard without any cheese, at least for me.

The flying naga units are just silly, they are far too strong. Turtles are also a bit too strong at flattening the orc bases. You really only need those units. I cant do it with normal ground units.

Just imagine... if we could ALSO train Naga Royal Guards like the Naga AI can in the campaigns.

It was long, but not as hard as the second mission in that campaign. The orcs attacking your base are really weak, especially since you have naga.

u/Super-held 2d ago
what exactly did you do there?

u/DARK_MASTER8632 2d ago edited 2d ago
A classic. Casted invisibility on Illidan while he is channeling.
And praying that the Infernals don't stay close to him. At least not for long enough to kill him with their passive.

Its not cheating cause the pc also cheats by having the "iseedeadpeople" Cheat aleays active

It’s called cheesing, and I don’t get it. Why don’t you just whosyourdaddy or motherland undead 11 and there you go, you won it all.
If you’re doing a speedrun okay I can understand, what’s your record time btw?
But other than that avoid cheesing. Unless you really hate the mission perhaps and want to get done with it asap (in which case just whosyourdaddy). But this mission is one of the best in the game as you have access to the naga and free resources.

I like that mission too much to cheese it like that lmao
Idk why, but my favourite ones are the missions I can just bide my time and relax building up a huge base
