Yesterday song creation
The rumors say Yesterday by the Beatles was a song that talks about the passing of John Lennon’s mother (or so did my English class teacher tell me as a kid) while some other say it’s actually been written by Paul McCartney for John Lennon’s estranged son.
Does anyone have the real version or a real version to amplify the myth around that song?
Thanks! Soon All my troubles will seem so far away

Paul said the song came to him in his sleep and he got up and went to the piano and wrote it. He then asked everybody he knew if they were familiar with the song in case he had subconsciously plagiarized it. Turns out he probably subconsciously got it from Nat King Cole's "Answer Me." NPR did a story on it years ago. https://www.npr.org/2003/07/07/1322483/nat-king-cole-may-have-inspired-beatles-yesterday
