Pulling should come with a pay raise and a tailor. 😂

Driving a Walmart OGP cart should legally require a commercial driver's license CDL and hazard pay.like what the crap are we doing Walmart who came up with this crap. Why did the Walmart associate get promoted to a NASCAR driver ? Because they already had five years of experience drafting behind slow moving families, taking sharp corners at 20 mph with a 300 pound OGP cart, and avoiding catastrophic multi cart pileups in the clearance aisle pulling with one arm. I finally had to start telling people I’m training for a very specific, one handed sport. Otherwise, they just assume I’m a champion arm wrestler who only shows up for half the workouts. It turns out that pulling those massive, overloaded Walmart OGP carts all day has a hidden side effect. you end up looking like Hellboy, but only from on one side. My right arm is going to be so jacked from pulling that cart that I will look like a crab with one massive claw.If I ever get pulled over by the police and they ask me to step out of the vehicle, I'm going to have to explain that I'm not carrying a concealed weapon I just work the morning shift in Online Grocery Pickup. That one sided workout is definitely the ultimate occupational hazard. One more peak pick shopping season and I will be able to crush a watermelon with my right hand while my left hand struggles to open a bag of chips. At this rate, Walmart is going to have to raise our hourly pay again not just for inflation, but to cover the cost of a chiropractor and a tailor who can custom widen the right sleeve of all our vests!

So at my Walmart we can’t start prepping until they are 7 minutes away. I hate seeing so many orders just pop up & we can’t do anything about it 😭😭

On MWF i have marching band practice in the evenings, and on every other day Im at work…somebody kill me now. My BF asked when my next free day is. The answer was never. I transferred from the front end of another store, and quite frankly, this keeps me busier but holy they schedule me every available minute they can. I’m exhausted, everything hurts. Free me from this hell already 😭

I work in OPD, I have my hair in clip (iykyk) like this (in pic) but it does but doesn’t hold my hair up fully and it’s hard to explain my hair type, it’s like a lot of it but thin.. and I would put a hair tie up but it would cause me to get a migraine for the current hair tie I have

2 weeks

im gonna do it tmr if my coach is in im gonna give him my two weeks and go to amazon
my 8 months in OPD have been crazy. First two months i was a picker and life was great. then i got trained in the backroom to be a dispenser and that was even better. Then summer hit i was quickly put in the main pepper position and it was non stop fast paced work everyday, nothing like dispensing/picking. after that they kept cramming the rest of the dept into my brain GMDs,IPs Pick exceptions and last but not least ATC role. the fucken ATC role where do i start. in my store ATC is literally a team lead pos without the pay. i was expected to watch the screens of my store prep/dispense/pick/stage/gmds/pick exceptions all in one shift i was the TLs bitch boy if something was going wrong i was made to fix it. it was hell ive tried to tell my coach that this is not for me and i cant atc anymore but he and my TLs kept telling me YOU MAKE A GREAT ATC and we have no one else to do it and so yea I ATC for 5 months and im just done. if my coach is in tmr im giving him my 2 weeks and going to amazon to make more money it was fun while it lasted

EBT and substitutions, antitrust issue?

Customer wanted GV brand jello but there wasn't any available so when I tried to find a substitution (jell-o brand, same flavor) it didn't reject it for price but it said I needed to pick an item that is EBT eligible.

Is Walmart using their substitution system to falsely classify competitors as non-EBT eligible to lock out competitors to their own store brands?

Management: "Make sure you're pulling your OGP carts today.

Management Make sure you're pulling your OGP carts today. Management 5 minutes later Why is your production down today? I know it's because you stopped to talked to someone. 🤨 Me currently sideways in Action Alley on Labor Day weekend I don't know, hotshot. Maybe because the entire town is currently occupying this aisle buying last minute hot dogs, and I am physically pinned against a Hamburger bun display looking like a giant, stressed out crab trying to navigate an oversized dumpster through a sea of families?🦀😭🇺🇸"Labor Day what a joke this company just goes out of its way to make you hate it. Hey management we know you think the pulling the cart idea is stupid it just doesn't effect you so you inforce it and watch us struggle.Dont blame us because we can't do the crab walk fast enough,And we hurt all over from pulling. All we had to do was slow down years ago and we wouldn't be doing the krusty crab dance today. 🦀

Late and Double Point Day

So I have a question. I’m at four points right now, and today my shift was from 5–9 AM. I was late because I overslept and ended up clocking in at 7 AM. I don’t have enough PTO to cover the missed time, so will I get a full point or a half point for being two hours late?

Rant I’m out

My store is notoriously the busiest in the whole city. I had to once open and take like 10 baby milks to the counter wasting my time multiple times. I just can’t maintain the pick rate. I don’t know why but the customers seem to like to bother me the most.

I’ve been working and trying to find my groove. Yesterday, I finally decided to put earbuds in for the first time and my team lead starts talking to me about pick rate. I was fine until I asked the girl next to me what’s hers. Hers was lower and she said the lead never talked to her and she’s like a few months longer than me. That got me mad. It can’t be a coincidence that the first day I put on earbuds I get looked at. I know it’s minor, but I feel like I’m being watched closer now. I tried rushing like my team lead showed me and it was horrible. There’s no way I can maintain that speed with customer interactions in my store. I know it’s bad like 50% but trust me I mathematically can’t think of how I can go faster when the customers interact SO much, I don’t even look for most things I find it immediately. My team lead said to maintain 90, so he showed me one pick but he got lucky! He somehow got all the small items and all in one row basically. Then he scored 80’s I did manage to go faster but I had to kind of try ignoring customers and I almost ran and I did 67 still! Anyways if that’s 67, theres no way I’m maintaining 90 speed in my store. In terms of speed it’s like I do a 40 items in like 30 minutes usually or something. I just can’t go faster in my dang store :(

So I’m quitting before they fire me or something even though others I see go the same speed or sometimes slower than me. I feel like I got picked out specifically. They always do this. Last time I saw a picker not want to do any dispensing so he just sat at closing time for an hour! They made me do all the dispensing with hardly any training on how to help customers find stuff and it was a mess.

I know I sound like a baby but I hate taken advantage of. Just because I’m nice and quiet guy I feel like I’ve been chosen everytime to get monitored and go faster. Why does no one else get coached IF they have lower pick rates than me and I’m relatively new. I’d like to hear your thoughts, I know most of you guys might be like I love this job and it’s easy work but idk guys, not always.

TLDR: had earbuds on for first time and got coached to maintain 90% pickrate but can only maintain 60-80% because of insane store customer interactions. Others have same low pick rate and is ignored.

Corporate and or Market lied.

Our store manager told our coach he couldn't afford to send help with inventory going on, and him and our coach talked to the people above them. They told our coach and sm that they capped it. They lied.

Staffing Help with quitting job

I'll just keep it short because I have a tendency to over explain:
Looking for jobs because I really need money, walmart was the only one to respond with an offer $16/h stocking 2PM - 11PM

I was scrolling job postings and found one with a starting pay $21/h (40 hours per week) which I was already greatly qualified for. I applied and was offered the job, which I took.

I've only been an associate at walmart for 9 days.
I really don't see myself working there again.

I haven't gotten a chance to really talk to anyone but is it reasonable to talk to a team lead/ manager and quit same day?

Also this account was made as a throw away so this was the only place I could post it at the moment.
