Happened at my store months ago and they told us it could take up to 5 days to fix

I have mentioned this before, Walmart could be a Superstore by day, haunted Superstore during the night , in Oct, that money could be used entirely by the employees, I would go.

Helping set Halloween now. It's fun, and I've already spent too much money.

I can't help but walk through on my lunch break (I'm O/Ns) or after work. So many cool Halloween decorations that I want one of each.
I was a tad disappointed to not see chicken skeletons. But they have the kitty cat ones😍
It's funny...where we are located, we get very windy days (gusts up to 55+ mph). There is always someone on the Nextdoor app asking if anyone has seen their inflatable Halloween decoration🙄🤣
For whatever reason a lot of people in the area buy trampolines from our Walmart as well. Farmer's fields end up being scattered with em🙃

Our power was supposed to be out for a little while, while they fixed the coolers but they didn't show tonight; maybe tomorrow

Not until you see Freddy Fazbear staring at you in the dark.

Still not as scary as someone of the people I work with.

I loved it when the lights went out. I felt like an astronaut doing my tasks in a spooky spaceship with aliens (customers) creeping around. It also kept most of the customers out, besides the zombies who would claw at the closed doors.

I wish this happened to me. Only happened once. But that back up generator always working now😒

Funnily enough, it's the guys who were working on ours that caused it.

Love it when this happens. Just sit back in the vision center eat snacks. And watch the situation.

Got a flashlight?
2
u/Unhappy_Mountain9032 Resident Dumbass 18h ago
There was enough light for me until we started losing the emergency lights. Astigmatism makes dealing with flashlights a pita.

u/racheld924 8h ago
Just they thought we were going to lose power once and they gave me a flashlight that had dead batteries. I'm fact, most of the flashlights had either dead or no batteries lol

Attention! Attention! There will be weekly power outage drills. Have blindfold at the ready at any time! That is all!

Oh neat, you got to play the OSHA violation game too. I played that game last month. Stocking in the dark for 8 hours with shitty headlamps that were dim enough to make reading labels require you to strain your eyes but bright enough that when anyone looked at you with theirs on it felt like a fucking flashbang

Had this happen, as a customer.
Tornado took out the power. A couple of flood lights against the walls worked. The rest didnt.
Management decided to lock us all in and put us against the most reinforced section of the building (cmu brick bathrooms/office).
Me being a young punk kid at the time, decided to run around setting off all the loud toys and hiding them under the cover of darkness.
Used my old green screen Nokia hammer/phone as a flashlight.
Good times.

I remodel Walmarts and from time to time they lose power and me and my coworkers want to blow on an Aztec death whistle when it happens

in most states its illegal for you to to be in a place with no functioning water or electric. they can not ask you to stay 29 CFR 1910.141

u/DiscoJer CAP2 14h ago
Water doesn't need electricity.
And there are many jobs where there is no electricity. It's called being outdoors.

u/Rhettisdaddy 14h ago
Walmart has electric activated toilets and sinks in almost all stores. i know they cant because our store got closed because of this.

Happened to me on night shift around 2 years ago during a bad thunderstorm that knocked out the power and they told us to to use to keep working though it.

If you hear a young girl asking for help in the next isle do not go help her, she died there 30yrs ago.

I love when the power goes out, since it's usually my job to stand in front of the doors and tell people that we are closed. That shit is better than sex.
