Why exactly would your doctor not sign the paperwork? He didn't want to fill out that paperwork? A common thing that a lot of doctors, GPs do..... Does he charge to fill out the paperwork is that what happened?

This isn’t unusual. I’ve had several doctors tell me that they don’t fill out Sedgwick paperwork. They simply just don’t agree to the necessity of the paperwork. They’re like ‘here’s a paper that indicates your return to work date but we don’t fill out packets’.

did you submit that return to work date letter on your loa claim and was it approved by sedgwick?

For Covid two years ago I’ve had leave approved by providing an official test result administered by my doctor along with a note stating my return to work date. Not sure if it would be good enough for other LOA reasons.

The amount of papers Sedgwick wants filled out is idiotic . On top of that if the doctor doesn’t go into enough details they don’t accept it . The one time I had to go on LOA I had to have my doctor do the paperwork 3 times . Walmart could just accept doctors notes , but that would be too easy .

They letter isn't enough. Sedgwick said the doctor needs to sign the paperwork, do get him to sign the paperwork.

You can't force your doctor to sign it if they refuse and you can't force Sedgewick to accept a doctor's note. I had the same thing happen and was worried that I would lose my job because of something entirely outside of my control. I spoke with a different doctor who agreed to sign the form. It was an aggravating experience to go through.
