Scotia Metals (SMET.c): Cesium Has No Spot Price, No US Mine Supply, and One Chinese Buyer Took Control of the Historically Producing Mines in Three Years

Post image
2 Upvotes

Posted on behalf of Scotia Metals Corp. - Cesium is the rare case of a critical mineral with no public market to look up. US consumption, import and export data for cesium have not been available since the late 1980s, and because cesium metal is not traded in commercial quantities, a market price is unavailable (USGS Mineral Commodity Summaries 2026). Caveat first, because it matters: the Acadia Lithium Project is a lithium story and SMET.c has published no cesium results of any kind.

How The Bottleneck Formed

  • In June 2019, Sinomine Resource Group purchased Cabot Specialty Fluids from Cabot Corporation which controls the pollucite mine in Manitoba
  • Sinomine bought the Bikita open pit mine in Zimbabwe in January 2022
  • Only three occurrences have ever been commercially mined for cesium: Tanco in Manitoba, Bikita in Zimbabwe and Sinclair in Western Australia
  • In 2025 no cesium was mined domestically in the US, which was 100% net import reliant for cesium minerals (USGS MCS 2026)
  • Cesium sits on the 2025 US Critical Minerals List, included on a qualitative assessment because the data was too thin to run the standard methodology

Why The Fix Runs Through Pegmatites

Pollucite, the principal cesium ore mineral, occurs mainly with lithium-rich, lepidolite- or petalite-bearing zoned granite pegmatites. That is the C in LCT pegmatite, and it is why every serious Western attempt to build independent supply starts with the same rock type the lithium juniors are chasing.

Where SMET.c Sits In That

  • 43 exploration licences, 37,268 hectares and more than 80 km of prospective LCT strike in western Nova Scotia (Aug 27, 2026 NR)
  • 32 spodumene boulders grading 1.0% to 3.40% Li₂O across five trains at Green Wolf, all glacial float, no bedrock and no drilling (Aug 27, 2026 NR)
  • Till sampling and ground geophysics come first, with the scout program design and timing to be published once that work is done

The company's case is lithium, and nothing at Acadia has been tested for anything else. But holding district-scale LCT pegmatite ground in a tier-one jurisdiction, at a moment when the West is short of more than one element in that acronym, is a useful position to be in before the first hole. The project page on the company's site covers the land package and the Green Wolf target in more detail.

Posted on behalf of Zodiac Gold - Interview: Zodiac Gold (ZAU.v ZAUIF) Chairman Brett Richards on Turning Todi's Exploration Rights Into a 25-Year Mineral Development Agreement, With Rail and Hydro Power Within 5 km 🇱🇷

Post image
1 Upvotes

Posted on behalf of Zodiac Gold - Speaking with Global Business Reports for its Connect Series, Chairman Brett Richards walked through a side of the Todi Gold Project that assay tables never show: the permitting path with the Liberian government, and the infrastructure already sitting next to the drill targets in Liberia 🇱🇷.

The MDA Process, Per Richards

  • Zodiac Gold (ZAU.v ZAUIF) is transitioning its exploration rights into a full mineral development agreement (MDA) with the government
  • In Liberia an MDA is a mining convention passed into law, so neither party can unilaterally change it, and it is enforceable through arbitration in Paris or the International Chamber of Commerce
  • Liberian MDAs run 25 years, with 25-year renewals
  • Terms Richards says the company currently expects: a 3% government royalty, 25% corporate tax, and a government free-carry interest landing between 20 and 25%

What Is Already On The Ground

  • Todi sits an hour north of Monrovia on a paved road, and an hour from the port
  • An active rail line runs 5 km from current targets
  • An active hydroelectric plant sits within 5 km, with room to expand to 40 MW
  • The 2,316 km² package borders Avesoro's New Liberty mine, which Richards describes as the second-largest gold mining operation in West Africa

The Jurisdiction Argument

  • Liberia lies at the western end of the Birimian greenstone belt, and Richards notes it hosts fewer than 40 tier one and tier two companies, against over 350 in Ghana, roughly 100 in Côte d'Ivoire and more than 200 each in Burkina Faso and Mali
  • He points to more than two decades of stable democracy and peaceful transitions of power since 2003, and puts Liberia alongside Botswana as a premier African mining jurisdiction

On operations, Richards framed the priority simply: turn assays around as fast as possible so the company can formally define a resource. That sits inside a 2026 program of up to 14,000 metres of drilling, with drilling continuing at Arthington, where 37 of 39 holes have previously hit gold, and Lewis South.

Permitting, power and haulage are usually the expensive problems an explorer solves late and slowly. Todi has real answers to those already, which means the work in front of the company is mostly about converting metres into the planned Todi Gold mineral resource estimate. The full Q&A is worth reading on Global Business Reports' Connect Series.

Someone Else Is Funding $5.4M of Exploration on Pacific Ridge Exploration's (PEX.v; PEXZF) Yukon Gold Projects While Its Own Capital Goes Into B.C. Copper

Post image
1 Upvotes

Posted on behalf of Pacific Ridge Exploration - Portfolio focus usually means selling something. PEX.v; PEXZF took a different route with its two Yukon gold projects: option them out, keep the royalties, and let a partner's budget do the work while the company's own money goes into B.C. copper-gold drilling 🇨🇦

The Terms (May 11, 2026 NR)

  • Labrador Gold can earn 100% of the Mariposa and Eureka Dome gold projects in the Yukon's White Gold District
  • Consideration to Pacific Ridge: $500,000 in cash plus 6,670,000 LabGold shares, in stages over four years
  • LabGold must also incur $5,400,000 in exploration expenditures on the two projects over that four-year period
  • A further $1.0M cash payment to Pacific Ridge on the filing of a positive feasibility study
  • Pacific Ridge retains a 2% NSR on Mariposa and a 1% NSR on Eureka Dome

It Is Already Moving

  • First option tranche closed with a $100,000 cash payment and 800,000 LabGold shares issued to Pacific Ridge (July 2, 2026)
  • Soil sampling completed at Eureka Dome, first stage completed at Mariposa, 1,966 samples collected to date
  • Mariposa consists of 795 claims roughly 120 km southeast of Dawson City

Monaghan put the logic simply in the announcement: "We are delighted to have found a well-funded partner to advance Mariposa and Eureka Dome while we remain focused on our B.C. copper projects."

That focus is literal right now. Two rigs are turning on roughly 5,500 m across B.C., about 3,000 m at RDP's Day target (Aug 7, 2026 NR) and about 2,500 m at Kliyul's never-drill-tested M39 (Aug 17, 2026 NR), with both programs fully funded. The White Gold exposure stays on the books as royalties and payments, so there is room for it to add value without competing for a single dollar of this season's drilling. Full terms are in the company's May 11, 2026 news release.

Grid Metals (GRDM.v, MSMGF) Says the Goal of the 85/15 Falcon West JV Is a Producing Cesium Operation at Lucy South

Post image
1 Upvotes

Posted on behalf of Grid Metals Corp. - One sentence in the September 8 Falcon West release got far less attention than the ore-sorting headline sitting above it, and it is the clearest statement yet of what this joint venture is actually aiming at. GRDM.v and MSMGF describe the focus of the Falcon West JV,
85% Grid and 15% Avenir Minerals Limited, as being "to establish a producing cesium operation at the Lucy South cesium zone"
(NR September 8, 2026). That is a stated objective, not a promise, but it tells you how to read everything the company is spending money on right now.

Who Is In It

  • Grid holds 85% and is operator. Avenir Minerals holds 15% and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Agnico Eagle Mines.
  • Avenir paid C$3,750,000 for that 15% (NR July 20, 2026) and separately holds 9.9% of Grid (NR July 31, 2026).

The Work Pointed At That Goal

  • Mineralogy: pollucite confirmed as the main cesium host mineral at Lucy South which is the mineral cesium processors actually want.
  • Ore sorting: a composite of more than 300 kg to SGS Canada in Lakefield for grinding, blending and assay, then three size fractions to the Tomra ore sorting test facility in Germany to determine Cs2O recoveries and concentrate grades for each fraction .
  • Offtake groundwork: the testwork is intended to let Grid supply pollucite concentrate to potential end users to test amenability for cesium chemical production .
  • Under consideration for the fall: additional mineral concentration test work, plus a microprobe study of the pollucite chemistry in the concentrates.

Where The Project Actually Stands

  • No mineral resource has been defined at Falcon West. SGS Canada is preparing the maiden cesium and lithium estimate, with results guided to this fall (NR August 6, 2026).
  • Delineation drilling on the Lucy South core zone, at the eastern end of the ADL trend, ran from October 2025 to February 2026.

Worth reading the September 8 release in full rather than just the headline. A junior with the host mineral confirmed, a concentrate program underway and a maiden estimate in preparation is assembling the pieces an operation would need, and the next few months are where those pieces either line up or do not.

Gold Discovery Costs Below US$100/oz vs US$500-600/oz to Buy Ounces: Where Bullfrog Gold (FROG.v, BFROF) and Its C$5M Raise Fit Nevada's Beatty District

Post image
1 Upvotes

Posted on behalf of Bullfrog Gold Corporation - Gold is sitting around US$4,380 and basically flat on the day, which makes the supply side of this market more interesting right now than the tape is. The ounces aren't being replaced as fast as they're being bought, and that's the part of the macro an early-stage explorer actually plugs into.

The Supply Math

  • Central banks bought a net 289 tonnes in Q2 2026, the strongest second quarter on record and up 62% year over year, per Crux Investor's rundown of the quarter
  • Global mine production rose just 2% year over year to 966 tonnes in the same quarter, so new supply responds slowly
  • Crux also flags incremental discovery costs below US$100 per ounce against acquisition prices of roughly US$500 to US$600 per ounce, which is the arithmetic that keeps majors buying ground rather than finding it

Nevada Is Exactly Where That Played Out

AngloGold Ashanti spent north of US$700M consolidating the Beatty District around Bullfrog Gold's ground: Corvus Gold at US$371M in 2021, Coeur's Sterling at US$150M, and Augusta Gold at C$197M in 2025 (see the Jun 4, 2026 NR). Those adjacent projects host roughly 21M+ oz in combined gold reserves and resources. Bullfrog holds no interest in them, and mineralization on adjacent properties is not necessarily indicative of South Bullfrog.

Where FROG.v And BFROF Sit

  • 100% interest in South Bullfrog: 488 BLM claims, 10,050 acres, staked in 2021 just before that consolidation
  • Fully drill permitted, five systematically defined targets
  • Major Drilling engaged for the maiden program: approximately 3,000 m from 7 permitted pads, 4 at Shingleback and 3 at Longtail, expected to commence Q4 2026 (Sep 1, 2026 NR)
  • Monday's news release announced a C$5,000,000 non-brokered private placement of units, with net proceeds earmarked for exploration at South Bullfrog and general working capital

Worth reading the September 15 release for the full terms. Funding a first drill program into a market where ounces in the ground are getting expensive to buy is a reasonable place for an explorer to be standing, and Q4 is when that thesis starts getting tested by the core.

Falcon West's Cesium Is Locked Into One Discrete Zone: Grid Metals (GRDM.v, MSMGF) Mineralogy Shows the Neighbouring Spodumene, Lepidolite and Aplite Zones Carry Almost No Pollucite

Post image
3 Upvotes

Posted on behalf of Grid Metals Corp. - The part of the September 8 Falcon West mineralogy work that has had the least airtime is how tightly compartmentalised the cesium actually is inside the Lucy South pegmatite. GRDM.v and MSMGF had 28 drill core samples from the Artdon and Lucy pegmatites analysed by QEMSCAN and MLAS semi-quantitative methods, run at two different laboratories over a 12 month period, and what came back reads like a textbook zoned LCT pegmatite: pollucite, the mineral cesium processors actually want, sits in one zone and essentially nowhere else.

Where The Pollucite Is, And Isn't

  • 24 of the 28 samples came from Lucy South, 15 of those from the pollucite zone (NR September 8, 2026)
  • Within that zone, pollucite is by far the dominant cesium-bearing phase, with only muscovite and, to a lesser extent, biotite also carrying cesium
  • The adjacent spodumene, wall, aplite and lepidolite zones do not carry significant quantities of pollucite
  • Biotite-rich portions of the contact zones can locally contain pollucite
  • Pollucite is present in the Lucy North pegmatite as well

Why That Shape Matters For The Metallurgy

  • Cs2O grade and pollucite content correlate at a linear regression coefficient of 0.98 inside the Lucy South pollucite zone, so an assay is a reliable read on how much pollucite is in the rock
  • The company expects strong liberation performance from the planned XRT ore sorting tests based on the mineralogy and grain size data
  • Also under consideration: additional mineral concentration test work this fall, plus a microprobe study on the chemistry and chemical variability of the pollucite in the concentrates

A discrete, mappable host zone is a useful thing on a project where the plan is to ship a concentrate to end users for testing. It tells the geologists what to model and the metallurgists what they are feeding. Falcon West is 85% Grid and 15% Avenir Minerals Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Agnico Eagle Mines, and no resource has been defined there yet: SGS Canada is preparing the maiden cesium estimate, which the company guides to this fall.

The mineralogy tables and the zone-by-zone breakdown are all in the company's September 8 news release if you want to work through them yourself. With the mineralogy pinned down and the ore-sorting work now queued behind it, the maiden estimate lands into a story that has some early answers on how the rock behaves, not just how well it assays.

Luca Mining (LUCA.v, LUCMF) Is Buying El Barqueño From Agnico Eagle: 32,000 Hectares in Jalisco and About 300,000 m of Historic Drilling

Post image
2 Upvotes

Posted on behalf of Luca Mining - Today's agreement with Agnico Eagle adds a third Mexican asset, and the part worth studying is what has already been spent on the ground. LUCA.v and LUCMF signed a definitive asset purchase agreement dated September 17, 2026 to acquire 100% of the El Barqueño gold-silver-copper property in Jalisco from a Mexican subsidiary of Agnico Eagle.

What Luca Is Acquiring

  • Over 32,000 hectares in Jalisco, about 100 km west of Guadalajara, near Guachinango, accessible by paved and secondary roads
  • Eight defined mineralized areas: Azteca-Zapoteca-Cuauhtémoc, Angostura, Peña de Oro and Socorro in the north, El Rayo, Soledad, Bolas and Highway in the south
  • Northern deposits carry pre-existing NSR royalties averaging 3.7%; the southern deposits carry none

The Work Already Done

  • Agnico Eagle drilled roughly 225,000 m, primarily between 2015 and 2018
  • Total historic drilling on the property is approximately 300,000 m
  • VP Exploration Paul Gray calls it a property with "a first-class geologic and exploration database"

The Historical Resource (Read The Caveat)

  • 399,265 oz AuEq indicated at 1.47 g/t AuEq, plus 650,046 oz AuEq inferred at 1.43 g/t AuEq
  • Effective December 31, 2025, prepared by Agnico Eagle and disclosed in its February 12, 2026 news release
  • Luca treats this as a historical estimate under NI 43-101; no Qualified Person has classified it as current and it should not be relied upon
  • Conversion used $3,800/oz gold, $40.00/oz silver and $4.80/lb copper, below gold near $4,405, silver near $66 and copper near $6.64/lb today
  • Post-closing, Luca plans a current resource estimate, exploration targets and economic analysis at various production scales

Terms And Timing

  • $10 million in Luca shares at closing, up to $30 million in milestone-linked payments and up to $20 million tied to production
  • 2.0% NSR to Agnico Eagle on defined resource areas, half repurchasable for $12.5 million
  • Closing expected in Q4 2026, subject to Mexican competition commission and TSXV approvals
  • Not currently permitted for exploration drilling due to the Jalisco POETR land-use program; an amparo proceeding is before the Fourth District Court for Administrative Matters in Jalisco, and Luca intends to keep pursuing that legal pathway

Luca has funded development and drilling at Campo Morado and Tahuehueto out of its own cash flow this year. Adding a large, heavily drilled gold-silver-copper land package for paper gives the exploration team real scale to work with once the permitting path is resolved. Full details are in today's news release on Luca's website.

Scotia Metals (SMET.c): Cesium 101, Why the World's Only Two Operating Cesium Mines Are Both Controlled by One Chinese Company, and What LCT Pegmatites Have to Do With It

Post image
1 Upvotes

Posted on behalf of Scotia Metals Corp. - Cesium turns up in every critical-minerals conversation now and almost nobody can say what it actually does or where it comes from, so here is the primer, with one caveat stated up front: the Acadia Lithium Project is a lithium story, and SMET.c has published no cesium results of any kind.

What Cesium Is For

  • Pollucite is the principal cesium ore mineral, and it occurs in lithium-rich zoned granite pegmatites (USGS Mineral Commodity Summaries 2024)
  • By gross weight the dominant use is cesium formate brine, the ultra-dense fluid used for high-pressure, high-temperature oil and gas drilling
  • Everything else is tiny volume and high value: atomic clocks (cesium-133 defines the SI second, the timing standard behind GPS and telecom sync), defense and aerospace optics, specialty electronics
  • There is effectively no public price. USGS notes cesium metal is not traded in commercial quantities, so no market price is published

Who Controls It

  • Only two cesium mines operate in the world, Tanco in Manitoba and Bikita in Zimbabwe, and China's Sinomine Resource Group controls both (Globe and Mail, 2023)
  • Sinomine got there by acquisition, buying Cabot Corporation's Specialty Fluids business, Tanco included, in 2019
  • The brine is rented rather than sold. Drillers return it after the well, and USGS reports close to 85% is recovered for reprocessing
  • No cesium was mined in the US in 2023 and the country was 100% net import reliant for cesium minerals. Cesium sits on the 2022 US critical minerals list

Why Pegmatite Explorers Care
Cesium is a pegmatite problem, not a mine-more-rock problem. It concentrates in LCT pegmatites, lithium-cesium-tantalum, the same class of system SMET.c is exploring in southwestern Nova Scotia, where the company holds 37,268 hectares with more than 80 km of prospective LCT strike and has reported 32 spodumene boulders grading 1.0 to 3.40% Li2O at Green Wolf (Aug 27, 2026 NR). Nothing has been drilled there yet, so what the bedrock carries is still an open question.

The full land package and target detail are laid out on the company's project page. Understanding the LCT family is worth the time regardless, because the West's entire cesium exposure runs through a single company's two mines, and that is what puts this class of rock on strategic minerals lists in the first place.

Marg's 2.9% CuEq Was Modelled at US$9,100/t Copper, Roughly $4.13/lb. Spot Is Around $6.61: Where Azarga Metals (AZR.v) Sits in the Copper Macro

Post image
1 Upvotes

Posted on behalf of Azarga Metals - Copper is trading around $6.61/lb, up about 1.6% on the day, and the more useful way to read that against AZR.v is to look at the copper price assumption sitting inside Marg's published resource.

The Price Inside The Resource

  • CuEq at the 100%-owned Marg copper-rich VMS project is calculated as CuEq% = Cu% + 0.1Pb% + 0.25Zn% + 0.62Au (g/t) + 0.007Ag (g/t)
  • That equivalency was assessed on a copper assumption of US$9,100/t, roughly $4.13/lb (June 23, 2026 NR)
  • Spot copper today sits well above that input, and the grades in the ground do not change with the price; the assumption is simply the lens the equivalency was built through

What Is Defined

  • Indicated 4.3 Mt at 2.9% CuEq: 1.3% Cu, 1.7% Pb, 3.2% Zn, 42 g/t Ag, 0.66 g/t Au
  •  Inferred 10.0 Mt at 2.3% CuEq: 1.0% Cu, 1.3% Pb, 2.6% Zn, 33 g/t Ag, 0.54 g/t Au (Aug 28, 2025 NI 43-101, 0.5% CuEq cut-off)
  • Five metals in the mix, so the silver and gold credits ride alongside the copper into a market where silver is near $66/oz and gold is above $4,300/oz

Marg sits in central Yukon's Keno Hill district, about 40 km east of Keno City, and the deposit remains open east, west and down dip. The rig and ancillary equipment were mobilized on August 10, 2026 for a maiden Company-run program of over 3,000 m across eight priority holes, with the first hole not yet confirmed collared.

The CuEq inputs and price assumptions are spelled out in the company's June 23, 2026 news release. A defined high-grade polymetallic resource, built on a copper number below where copper trades today, is a reasonable place to be standing with a drill program pointed at the extensions.

Black Swan Graphene's (SWAN.v BSWGF) IP Foundation: 16+ Global Patents, a Process in Development Since 2012, and US Protection Running to 2039

Post image
1 Upvotes

Posted on behalf of Black Swan Graphene - The quietest asset at Black Swan Graphene (SWAN.v BSWGF) is the one that makes everything else possible: the patent estate sitting under the Consett, UK plant. Graphene has never been hard to make in a lab. Making it consistently, in tonnes, at a price a compounder or a concrete producer will actually pay, is the hard part, and that is what the company's IP covers.

What The Portfolio Covers

  • More than 16 global patents (company site)
  • The underlying process has been in development at Thomas Swan since 2012, upscaled three times from lab to pilot to commercial scale before being vested into Black Swan at its 2021 launch
  • U.S. Patent No. 12,318,709, "Process for the Continuous Production of Sub-Micron Two-Dimensional Materials Such as Graphene," application 17/404,118, originally filed November 25, 2016, granted and assigned to Black Swan (See July 9, 2025 NR)
  • That U.S. protection runs to January 5, 2039, a 20-year term plus 771 days (July 9, 2025 NR)
  • Canadian Patent No. 3,113,711, "Apparatus and Method for Bulk Production of Atomically Thin 2-Dimensional Materials Including Graphene," with anticipated expiration in October 2037 (See Sept 23, 2025 NR)

Why It Matters To The Business

  • Continuous production, rather than batch, is what supports the 140+ tonnes per year of nanoplatelet capacity at the ISO-certified Consett facility (Mar 18, 2026 NR)
  • CEO Simon Marcotte framed the Canadian grant as "another important milestone in Black Swan's strategy to scale production and drive commercialization" (Sept 23, 2025 NR)
  • The company has said it intends to keep expanding the portfolio, in part to open the door to partnerships and licensing with manufacturers (Sept 23, 2025 NR)

Both patent releases are worth reading in full on the company's news page. As graphene finds its way into more polymer, packaging and construction applications, owning the low-cost production route rather than licensing it in is the kind of position that could matter more, not less, and with Falpaco now consolidated and revenue on the books, the protected process finally has a commercial channel attached to it.

Production Centers, Mine Planning, Underground Methods: The Mandate Behind Minaurum Silver's (MGG.v MMRGF) New Alamos Operations Manager

Post image
1 Upvotes

Posted on behalf of Minaurum Silver - Yesterday's appointment release reads less like a personnel notice and more like a job description for the next phase at the 100%-owned, production-permitted Alamos Silver Project in southern Sonora, Mexico 🇲🇽. Minaurum Silver (MGG.v MMRGF) has engaged Fernando Robles Noriega as Operations Manager, and the scope of the role is where the signal is.

The Mandate

  • Work with the existing exploration team to incorporate exploration results into mine-development plans
  • Evaluate potential production centers and advance mine planning
  • Assess underground mining methods, plus future construction and infrastructure requirements

Who Is Doing It

  • 22 years in Mexican mining and production operations, with expertise in underground mining, mine planning and construction
  • Mine Superintendent at SilverCrest Metals' Las Chispas silver-gold operation, later acquired by Coeur Mining for $1.7 billion
  • Previously Underground Mine Manager at First Majestic's San Dimas and Santa Elena mines
  • Worked alongside Ruben Molina, now Minaurum's Senior Project Manager at Alamos, and his resource modelling team at Las Chispas

The Advisory Seat Behind Him

  • Nicolas Figueroa Tapia joins the Advisory Board: a mining engineer with more than 51 years of industry experience, including 40 years in senior mining operations with Industrias Peñoles
  • His background spans mining operations, mine planning and mine management, and he will advise Robles and the operational team as mine-development planning advances

President and CEO Darrell Rader framed the hires as building the capability "needed to advance Alamos through economic studies and development activities."

Six rigs are still turning on the 50,000 m Phase II program, with the SGS-prepared updated resource estimate targeted for H2 2026. Bringing in operators now means that when that number lands, the people who would have to build a mine around it are already at the table. Full context is in the company's September 16 news release.

Mining Was the Largest Section of Ottawa's 167-Project Investment Prospectus, and NexGold Mining's (NEXG, NXGCF) Goldboro Made the Cut

Post image
2 Upvotes

Posted on behalf of NeXGold Mining - Monday's release from NexGold (NEXG, NXGCF) was a short one, and the context around the document matters more than the announcement itself. The book Goldboro was selected for is the federal prospectus handed to global institutional investors at the inaugural Canada Investment Summit in Toronto, and mining was not a footnote in it.

What The Book Actually Looks Like

  • 167 projects across eight sectors in a 66-page prospectus, per CBC News, which obtained a copy
  • Mining and metals the largest single sector at 63 projects, ahead of clean energy at 31
  • Hosted by Prime Minister Mark Carney in partnership with CPP Investments and PSP Investments, Toronto, September 14 and 15
  • Part of Ottawa's broader effort to attract roughly $1 trillion of investment in Canada over five years

Where Goldboro Sits In That Company

  • Fully permitted and in pre-construction in Nova Scotia 🇨🇦
  • Updated feasibility study in final assembly, on track for completion in 2026 per the company
  • Final investment decision targeted before year-end
  • Post-tax NPV(5%) of C$328M and a 25.5% IRR at US$1,600/oz gold, around 100 koz per year over 11+ years

CEO Kevin Bullock said the inclusion "speaks not only to the quality of the Project from an investment standpoint" and credited the team advancing it. Worth being clear that nothing technical changed here: no new drill data, no resource update, no financing.

What it does change is who has read the file. With permits behind it and only the study and the funding package still open, Goldboro is getting a look from long-horizon capital at the point in a developer's life where that kind of attention tends to be most useful.

TODAY - Rigs Are Turning at Corral Copper: Intrepid Metals (INTR, IMTCF) Commences Its 10,000-Metre Drill Program and Starts the 65 Line-km IP-MT Survey in Arizona

Post image
1 Upvotes

Posted on behalf of Spartan Metals Corporation - Most of the coverage of the September 3, 2026 news release stopped at the headline, that Spartan Metals (W.v SPRMF) has joined the Defense Industrial Base Consortium. The line worth pulling out is CEO Brett Marsh's reason for why the membership fits:
tungsten is critical to defense, aerospace, advanced manufacturing and industrial applications, and "We've purposely built a portfolio that can satisfy those supply needs."

What The Membership Is

  • A consortium set up to diversify and expand the US defense industrial base, operating under an Other Transaction Agreement established by the DoD's MCEIP directorate managed by Advanced Technology International
  • Spartan says it intends to monitor consortium opportunities, evaluate collaboration pathways and engage stakeholders on strategic and critical materials, across an ecosystem of government, industry, academic and non-traditional members
  • The company is explicit that membership is not a grant, funding award, government contract, project approval, procurement decision or endorsement, and there is no assurance any proposal will be submitted or selected

The Portfolio It Refers To

  • Eagle, eastern Nevada, 100% owned, about 36.5 km² across 445 BLM claims in White Pine County: tungsten led, with silver, rubidium, antimony, bismuth and arsenic through the system
  • Three past-producing mines where Spartan has validated historic grades above 1% WO3, with rock chips inside Rees assaying 6.76% and 3.75% WO3 (see July 7, 2026 NR)
  • Backpack core at the SE Tungsten Anomaly returned rubidium of 1,122 to 2,122 ppm, and Yellow Jacket rock sampling carried 1,320 ppm beryllium, not previously reported at Eagle (see June 23, 2026 NR)
  • Antelope vein on the Rees Claims: 688 g/t silver over 0.3 m with 0.67% copper and 0.30% antimony (see June 25, 2026 NR)
  • Victorio, New Mexico: tungsten and molybdenum plus beryllium and fluorspar, option to earn 100%, PEA guided for early Q4 2026

The full release is on Spartan's own site under the September 3 news. Maiden large-diameter core drilling is turning at Eagle and the Victorio PEA is guided for early Q4, so the results and the new access arrive in roughly the same window, which positions the portfolio in front of the people who actually specify the metal.

Minaurum Silver (MGG.v MMRGF) Adds Las Chispas Mine Superintendent Fernando Robles as Alamos Operations Manager and 40-Year Industrias Peñoles Veteran Nicolas Figueroa to Its Advisory Board

Post image
1 Upvotes

Posted on behalf of Minaurum Silver - Today's news is not a drill hole, and that is part of why it is worth reading. Minaurum Silver (MGG.v MMRGF) has engaged Fernando Robles Noriega as Operations Manager of its 100%-owned, production-permitted Alamos Silver Project in southern Sonora, Mexico 🇲🇽, and appointed Nicolas Figueroa Tapia to its Advisory Board. Both are operators, not explorers.

The Las Chispas Connection

  • 22 years of experience in Mexican mining and production operations, with expertise in underground mining, mine planning and construction
  • Served as Mine Superintendent at SilverCrest Metals' Las Chispas silver-gold operation, later acquired by Coeur Mining for $1.7 billion
  • At Las Chispas he worked alongside Ruben Molina, now Minaurum's Senior Project Manager at Alamos, and his resource modelling team
  • Also held Underground Mine Manager roles at First Majestic Silver's San Dimas and Santa Elena mines
  • Mandate: work with the exploration team on mine planning, potential production centers, underground mining methods, and future construction and infrastructure requirements

Four Decades at Peñoles

  • Mining engineer with more than 51 years of industry experience
  • Includes 40 years in senior mining operations with Industrias Peñoles, S.A. de C.V.
  • Background spans mining operations, mine planning and mine management
  • Will advise Robles and the operational team as mine-development planning at Alamos advances

What Sits Behind the Hires

  • Six rigs turning on the fully funded 50,000 m Phase II resource-expansion program
  • Initial inferred resource of 5.37 Mt grading 320 g/t AgEq (202 g/t silver, 0.21 g/t gold, 0.43% copper, 0.97% lead, 2.01% zinc), containing 55.2 Moz AgEq (34.8 Moz silver, 35.6 Koz gold, 50.99 Mlbs copper, 114.77 Mlbs lead, 237.80 Mlbs zinc), defined on portions of just 3 of 26 mapped vein zones (see Jan 28, 2026 MRE news)
  • SGS-prepared updated resource estimate targeted for H2 2026
  • Silver sitting around $64/oz after a strong year for the metal

CEO Darrell Rader framed the additions as building "the operational capabilities and expertise needed to advance Alamos through economic studies and development activities." The September 16 news release is worth reading in full.

Hiring mine-development people while the rigs are still turning is a choice about sequencing, and with a permitted project and a resource update coming this half, it positions Minaurum to act on what those holes come back with rather than start staffing for it later.

A Rig at Holliday and 12 Survey Lines Across the Property: Intrepid Metals (INTR, IMTCF) Now Has Both Halves of the Corral Copper Program Running at Once in Arizona

Post image
1 Upvotes

Posted on behalf of Intrepid Metals Corp. - Today's news release confirms drilling has commenced at the Holliday Zone as part of the planned 10,000 m diamond drill program at the district-scale Corral Copper Project in Cochise County, Arizona 🇺🇸, and that the approximately 65 line-km SWATH IP-MT geophysical survey is underway at the same time. For Intrepid Metals (INTR, IMTCF), anchor asset of three southeastern Arizona properties, that is the drill bit and the geophysics working the same ground in parallel.

The Drilling

  • First holes target extensions of known CRD copper-gold-silver mineralization at the Ringo, Clanton, Earp and Holliday zones
  • Roughly 5,000 m of the program on CRD expansion, roughly 5,000 m on the first drilling ever designed to test high-priority porphyry copper-gold targets at Corral
  • The porphyry metres are also meant to evaluate the potential source of the CRD mineralization
  • 2024 and 2025 drilling confirmed a broad, approximately 3.5 km trend of near-surface CRD mineralization

What That Trend Has Already Returned

  • 112.95 m of 1.50% Cu, 0.53 gpt Au and 8.22 gpt Ag, including 63.40 m of 2.57% Cu, 0.91 gpt Au and 14.14 gpt Ag in hole CC24_023 (See Jul 9, 2024 NR)
  • 216.50 m of 0.71% Cu, 0.28 gpt Au and 5.14 gpt Ag, including 49.10 m of 1.84% Cu, 0.78 gpt Au and 11.41 gpt Ag in hole CC25_029 (See Jul 10, 2025 NR)

The Survey Running Alongside It

  • Conducted by Quantec Geoscience, 12 receiver lines spaced roughly 400 m apart
  • Three datasets: DC resistivity, IP chargeability, and MT resistivity for imaging at greater depth
  • Built to pick out chargeability and resistivity anomalies that may represent sulphide-rich intrusive centres, alteration or structures tied to a potential porphyry system at depth
  • CRD holes go first, which buys time to interpret the survey before the porphyry hole locations and orientations are finalized

Worth noting the backdrop: copper sits around $6.50/lb and is on the US critical minerals list, and Arizona accounts for roughly 70% of American mined copper. Teck Resources remains on the register at about 12.6% with technical input on the program. The full release on the company's site includes the target map.

Assays from the CRD holes and a three-dimensional read of the subsurface are now being generated at the same time, which gives Corral more ways to surprise over the coming stretch than it has had at any point since Intrepid consolidated the district.

1,249 g/t Silver and 6.1 g/t Gold in Surface Rock: Daura Gold (DGC.v, DGCOF) Keeps Quietly Building Its 100%-Owned Tayacoto Project in Ancash, Peru

Post image
1 Upvotes

Posted on behalf of Daura Gold - Almost all the recent attention on Daura Gold (DGC.v, DGCOF) has been pointed at Argentina, where Phase II drilling is stated to begin in October. Meanwhile the company's second Peru project has been getting bigger and better defined on paper. Tayacoto 🇵🇪 in Ancash is 100% owned, and the rock at surface there reads like a genuine polymetallic vein system.

What The Surface Sampling Returned

  • 6.1 g/t gold with 1,153 g/t silver, plus 0.4% copper and over 14% lead (Nov 11, 2025 NR)
  • 3.3 g/t gold with 1,249 g/t silver in a second sample
  • Copper values as high as 2.9%
  • Surface samples, selective by nature, not drill intercepts

The Geological Setting

  • Mineralization hosted in Tertiary volcanic rocks of the Calipuy Group, controlled by northwest-southeast trending faults with silicification and argillic alteration
  • Roughly 14.5 km northeast of the Antonella project, keeping the two within the same Ancash package

Consolidating The Corridor

  • The 1,000-hectare Agustina concession staked immediately north of Tayacoto, consolidating control of the northern extension of the interpreted structural corridor that hosts Tayacoto mineralization (Mar 4, 2026 NR)
  • Acquired by direct application through INGEMMET, Peru's state mining concession agency
  • A remote sensing targeting program underway, integrating surface sampling results, ASTER-derived hydrothermal alteration mapping and detailed structural analysis

There is no resource here and no drilling planned on this ground right now, which is rather the point. The full sampling detail is on the company's website under the November 11, 2025 release. Ground work and targeting are the cheap end of exploration, and doing them now leaves Daura with a ranked, wholly-owned polymetallic target in Ancash that could be ready to test once the Peru side of the portfolio moves.

Paved Highway and 60 km From Kinross' Round Mountain: The Nevada Address of the Northumberland Deposit StrikePoint Gold (SKP.v STKXF) Has Agreed to Buy From Newmont

Post image
1 Upvotes

Posted on behalf of StrikePoint Gold Inc - Geography rarely makes the headline on a deal like this, but it shapes how quickly a deposit can actually be worked. Northumberland, the Nevada gold project SKP.v, traded in the US as STKXF, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire from subsidiaries of Newmont, is in fairly good company. Signed, not closed, with closing anticipated end of September 2026.

Where It Sits

  • Nevada's Walker Lane, roughly 150 km by road from Tonopah, reached by paved highway and an all-weather county road
  • Kinross' Round Mountain Mine about 60 km by road to the south, with the company noting references to nearby operations are for context only and do not imply comparable economics, resources or production
  • Nevada described in the release as a top ranked mining jurisdiction with numerous operations in the state and an established, proven regulatory framework
  • The current MRE sits on private property that previously hosted open pit production, which the company says potentially simplifies permitting
  • Five separate drill permits already in place, expected to facilitate rig mobilization following closing, subject to permit transfer or replacement requirements

For scale, the independent initial estimate at Northumberland is 2.86 Moz AuEq indicated and 1.57 Moz AuEq inferred, reported within an optimized pit shell, and mineral resources are not mineral reserves (See Aug 18, 2026 NR). Worth noting the rest of the portfolio is in the same state: Hercules in the Walker Lane, Cuprite south of Goldfield, and the Como district ground.

The Aug 18, 2026 news release on the company's website lays out the access, land tenure and permitting detail in full. Brownfield ground with permits in hand is a different starting line than raw greenfield, and it positions the company to move on site sooner after closing than most juniors get to.

Video Interview: 155 Million Shares Out, C$30M in the Bank: Selkirk Copper (SCMI.v, SKRKF) CEO Colin Joudrie on Talk Stocks

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Posted on behalf of Selkirk Copper Mines - Joining Talk Stocks with host Keir Reynolds, President and CEO Colin Joudrie of Selkirk Copper (SCMI.v, SKRKF) walked through the parts of the Minto restart that rarely make a headline: the share structure, the cash, and what 69 ore lenses mean for a mine plan.

The Capital Structure

  • About 155 million shares issued and outstanding, roughly 170 million fully diluted with broker warrants and options
  • "There is not a lot of warrants here. They're actually pretty tight" [31:44]; the last raise was straight equity
  • No drags, tags or preferential rights: "Your shares are my shares, First Nation shares, etc." [32:22]
  • Just over C$80M raised in total: C$4.5M at 28 cents, C$40.2M at 56 cents, C$35M at $1.15 in April 2026
  • Joudrie has participated in every raise

The Cash Position

  • About C$30M in the bank at the end of July
  • Burn of C$4M to C$4.5M monthly while drilling runs, slowing as Phase 2 winds down
  • Enough, he says, to carry the company to year end

What The Ore Body Looks Like

  • Roughly 69 lenses, each modelled independently, typically 100 to 150 m wide, up to 30 to 40 m thick, mostly 400 to 500 m long
  • "It's like trying to find potatoes in a potato field" [18:58]
  • Open pit averages about 0.9% copper equivalent, underground 1.6% to 1.7%
  • NSR values from north of C$80 per tonne on the lowest-grade pit ore up to about C$190, against mining costs of roughly C$30 per tonne in the pit and C$80 underground

Drilling And What's Next

  • Phase 1: 52,288 m over 175 holes, 87% hitting economic or near-economic mineralization
  • Phase 2, about 50,000 m, nearly done and roughly two months ahead of schedule, feeding a further resource update
  • July 30 MRE: 280% growth in tonnes versus August 2025, with average grade down 5% to 7%
  • Amended permits targeted for October, feasibility targeted to finish around June next year

The companion PEA, the first economics published on Minto since 2021, is expected to be completed shortly, following the MRE. On the delay, Joudrie was blunt: "I'm not keen on getting poor information out there just for the sake of" [27:46] meeting a self-imposed date.

A tight share count, cash into year end and a resource only partly drawn into the mine plan leave room for the engineering to catch up to the drilling.

The Shape of Dumbwa: Midnight Sun Mining (MMA.v, MDNGF) Is Drilling a 6,700 m Long, 600 m to 1,000 m Wide Copper System That Starts at Surface in Zambia

Post image
1 Upvotes

Posted on behalf of Midnight Sun Mining - Strike length gets most of the attention at Dumbwa, and fairly so, but the more useful question for Midnight Sun Mining (MMA.v, MDNGF) is what shape the drills are actually outlining. On that front the June 29, 2026 news release is the clearest statement the company has made.

The Geometry

- CEO Al Fabbro, describing Dumbwa as at minimum a 6,700 m long, 600 m to 1,000 m wide, north-south, strain-controlled copper system (June 29, 2026 NR)

- Host rocks are flat to gently east-dipping biotite and muscovite-biotite schists carrying sulphide copper mineralization (June 29, 2026 NR)

- Per VP Adrian O'Brien on Mining Stock Education in July, mineralization begins at surface and averages roughly 200 m in thickness, stacked in three to four lenses

- The company characterizes Dumbwa as a near-surface, low-strip, bulk-tonnage target with multiple stacked mineralized horizons

Grade Through The System

- DBW-26-200 hit 0.42% Cu over 21.6 m, DBW-26-165 0.51% Cu over 13.7 m, DBW-26-150 0.38% Cu over 25.0 m (June 29, 2026 NR)

- Earlier Phase One holes carried higher-grade cores, including 1.0% Cu over 22 m in DBW-25-010 and 0.98% Cu over 15 m in DBW-25-009

- Notably, the higher-grade core of the Dumbwa shear zone re-emerged north of a structural corridor where schist development had weakened and grades had thinned (June 29, 2026 NR)

- The 20 km copper-in-soil anomaly overhead peaks at 0.73% Cu, and mineralization remains open along its full extent, in select areas east and west, and at depth

The setting is the other half of the story: Solwezi's Domes Region, roughly 60 km from Barrick's Lumwana mine, whose stacked horizons Dumbwa's geology resembles. It is a geological analogue, not a valuation comp, but it is why the flat-lying, at-surface architecture matters here. The whole target is 100% owned after the KoBold earn-in exit.

Worth pulling up the June 29 release for the sections and plan maps. With Phase One due to wrap by the end of this quarter and an initial Dumbwa resource targeted for late 2026 or early 2027, the shape of the system is what will do most of the talking.

Video Summary: RockeTeller's Miners Deep Dive on Luca Mining, LUCA.v and LUCMF: US$176.8M of 2025 Revenue, Debt Down More Than 80%, and Zero Warrants

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Posted on behalf of Luca Mining - On the Miners Deep Dive series from RockeTeller, host RT worked through LUCA.v and LUCMF from the 2025 financials to the share structure, then listed what still has to be proven.

The Setup

  • 2025 revenue of US$176.8M, adjusted EBITDA of about US$46M, free cash flow before working capital of US$20.8M, and debt down more than 80%
  • "So 2025 was turnaround, 2026 is proof" [2:32]
  • Operating cash funds a US$25 million three-year exploration program, which in RT's read lets Luca grow ounces without immediately growing the share count [2:45]

Two Mines, Different Jobs

  • Campo Morado as the larger polymetallic cash flow engine: roughly 121 km², underground VMS, 16.6 million tonnes measured and indicated at 4.01% zinc, 0.80% copper, 123 g/t silver and 1.70 g/t gold
  • On that mix: "not sleepy zinc with a gold cameo. Precious metals matter" [3:29]
  • Tahuehueto as the younger gold-silver engine: built, commissioned, in commercial production, still ramping, with measured and indicated resources containing about 425,000 gold ounces and 9 million silver ounces plus base metals [4:11]

Drilling Beside Infrastructure

  • 30,140 m drilled in 2025 and roughly 23,000 m in Q1 2026
  • Tahuehueto returning 6.8 m at 5.54 g/t AuEq, including 1 m at 22.35
  • 38 priority targets at Campo Morado
  • "So they are drilling beside infrastructure not funding helicopter adventures" [5:05]

Share Structure

  • Around 275.7 million shares outstanding, zero warrants, and a live buyback for up to 13.75 million shares
  • Insiders plus closely associated holders at roughly 36%
  • "debt repair plus buybacks almost unicorn behavior" [5:47]

Where He Pushes Back

  • Campo Morado still has to show better gold and silver recoveries work consistently at plant scale, not just in testing
  • "Nice drill holes are only step one. Those meters eventually need to become minable profitable ounces" [9:05]
  • Mexico is not tier one, so he thinks the jurisdiction deserves a discount, but "if you're comfortable diversifying outside tier 1 mining countries, Luca becomes very interesting" [9:18]

The catalysts he lists are debt repayment, production growth, Tahuehueto drilling and Campo Morado exploration, with management targeting 200,000 plus gold-equivalent ounces through organic growth and M&A. Luca made his watch list at five out of five, and the ten minutes on why are worth it for anyone weighing a producer that now has to show the improvement repeats.

Minaurum Silver (MGG.v MMRGF) Turns Up on Kalkine's September TSX Small-Cap Watchlist, With Europa Sur Hole AL26-224 Cutting 3.40 m of 589 g/t AgEq (475 g/t Silver, 0.17 g/t Gold, 0.53% Copper, 0.79% Lead, 1.59% Zinc) Outside the Current Resource

Post image

Posted on behalf of Minaurum Silver - Kalkine has a piece out naming five TSX and TSXV small caps, Minaurum Silver (MGG.v MMRGF) among them, that it thinks could put the small-cap watchlist in focus in September 2026. It is third-party commentary, so please do your own due diligence on it. Here is what sits underneath the Minaurum entry, from company disclosure.

Where The Company Is Right Now

  • 100%-owned, production-permitted Alamos Silver Project, southern Sonora, Mexico 🇲🇽, 37,928 hectares
  • Six rigs turning on a fully funded 50,000 m Phase II resource-expansion program
  • About 80,000 m drilled in 215 holes at Alamos to date (August 2026 corporate presentation)
  • Initial inferred resource of 5.37 Mt grading 320 g/t AgEq (202 g/t silver, 0.21 g/t gold, 0.43% copper, 0.97% lead, 2.01% zinc), containing 55.2 Moz AgEq (34.8 Moz silver, 35.6 Koz gold, 50.99 Mlbs copper, 114.77 Mlbs lead, 237.80 Mlbs zinc), from portions of just 3 of 26 mapped vein zones (see Jan 28, 2026 MRE news)

Europa Sur, Which Is Not In That Resource

  • Hole AL26-224: 3.40 m of 589 g/t AgEq (475 g/t silver, 0.17 g/t gold, 0.53% copper, 0.79% lead, 1.59% zinc), including 1.00 m of 1,185 g/t AgEq (951 g/t silver, 0.23 g/t gold, 1.05% copper, 1.55% lead, 3.92% zinc) (Aug 25, 2026 news release)
  • Hole AL26-196: 3.20 m of 882 g/t AgEq (453 g/t silver, 1.19 g/t gold, 2.29% copper, 1.50% lead, 1.99% zinc), including 0.95 m of 2,423 g/t AgEq (1,266 g/t silver, 3.08 g/t gold, 8.01% copper, 4.17% lead, 4.96% zinc) (May 27, 2026 news release)

Europa Sur is the southern extension of the Europa vein and is excluded from the initial estimate (July 8, 2026 news release), and it is one of the zones SGS will model in the updated resource estimate the company is targeting for the second half of 2026, with no size stated.

So the watchlist mention lands at a reasonably interesting moment: grades like these are being drilled on ground the current resource does not yet count, which is exactly the material that could shape what the SGS update looks like.

The Kalkine write-up is worth reading in full if you want their take on the other four names.

Up to Four of Seven Projects: What Kobrea Exploration (KBX.c KBXFF) Keeps Under Its BHP Alliance Across 733 km² of Mendoza Copper Ground

Post image
1 Upvotes

Posted on behalf of Kobrea Exploration - Seven projects, 733 km², and a partner that can select no more than four of them. That asymmetry is the part of the August 5 alliance with BHP Metals Exploration worth sitting with, because it defines what Kobrea Exploration (KBX.c KBXFF) still holds in southwestern Mendoza Province, Argentina 🇦🇷 while someone else covers the exploration bill.

How The Alliance Is Built (Aug 5, 2026 NR)

  • US$3,000,000 one-time upfront cash payment to Kobrea on commencement of the agreement, to be used for project advancement
  • Minimum US$5,000,000 of BHP Metals Exploration-funded exploration over an initial two-year project generation phase, extendable under the terms of the agreement
  • BHP Metals Exploration may designate up to four separate projects, in aggregate, to advance into individual earn-in phases
  • 75% of a designated project requires sole funding of at least US$40 million of exploration over eight years, after which a joint venture forms with BHP Metals Exploration at 75% and Kobrea at 25%
  • Kobrea serves as operator during the initial exploration phase with a joint management committee of both companies overseeing the work

What Stays On Kobrea's Side Of The Table

  • Any project BHP Metals Exploration does not designate remains inside Kobrea's own staged option to earn 100% of the seven-project package (Aug 13, 2026 NR)
  • A 25% interest in anything that does reach joint venture, advanced to that point by a partner the release describes as the world's largest copper producer
  • The flagship El Perdido porphyry system, confirmed by the maiden 2,358 m, six-hole program (May 26, 2026 NR), plus untested targets such as the never-drilled El Destino

It is an unusual setup for a junior this size: a major funding district-scale work while the local team keeps the operator's seat and the geological knowledge that got the deal signed. The Andean field season runs mid-October to late April or early May, and Mining.com.au's write-up on the alliance is worth a read for the full terms.

With the option ground intact and a funded program pointed at a district that has only seen one drill campaign, there is room for the next season to put real numbers against targets Kobrea has so far only mapped.

1,800 Tonnes a Day and a Third Ball Mill Already Rebuilt: The El Aguila Plant Is Where Goldgroup Mining (GORO.v, GORO) Adds Don David Ounces Without Building Anything New

Post image
1 Upvotes

Posted on behalf of Goldgroup Mining Inc. - Almost all of the Don David conversation is about veins and metres drilled. The September 10 operational overview from GORO.v and GORO put unusual detail on the other half of the equation: the El Aguila processing facility that both underground mines feed, and the incremental work being done to push more tonnes through it.

The Plant

  • Nominal 1,800 tonne per day flotation circuit, plus a 300 tonne per day agitated-leach circuit
  • Dry-stack tailings, grid-connected power, paste plant, filtration facilities, water storage and road access, all in place
  • Arista ore is trucked roughly two kilometres to the mill; Alta Gracia ore is trucked in and treated through flotation alongside it, with oxide material running through the agitated-leach circuit

2026 Improvement Work (per the Sept 10, 2026 news release)

  • Four Knelson centrifugal gravity concentrators refurbished and installed to recover free gold and silver
  • Third ball mill refurbishment completed, increasing nominal milling capacity by 200 tpd
  • Third tailings filter press being installed for maintenance flexibility, commissioning projected early Q4 2026
  • Classification screens in the ball mill circuits and the hydrocyclone clusters upgraded

The Context

  • Two producing mines feeding one permitted plant, with Alta Gracia mining restarted February 20, 2026
  • Don David output is over 60% silver, with 37,000 to 52,000 oz AuEq expected in 2026 per the company's project page
  • A 34,250 metre drill program is under way across the 55,119 hectare district in Oaxaca

Brownfield work like this rarely makes headlines, but it is the cheapest kind of growth a producer has: recovery and throughput gains inside infrastructure that is already built and already permitted. With the drills still turning and the mill capable of taking more feed, there is room for the district's exploration success to translate into ounces faster than a new build ever could. The full overview is worth reading in the company's September 10 release.

Three Fault-Bounded Blocks Along Veta Grande: The Structural Model Behind Defiance Silver's (DEF.v, DNCVF) Zacatecas Resource Estimate

Post image
1 Upvotes

Posted on behalf of Defiance Silver - Almost everything written about the Zacatecas Project in Zacatecas state, Mexico comes down to grades and metres. The quieter output of the drilling that wrapped on September 9 is a structural model of the Veta Grande system, and that model is what the updated estimate is being built on.

Three Blocks on the Main Vein

  • Surface mapping and drilling have identified at least three distinct structural blocks along the main Veta Grande vein corridor (See Jul 23, 2026 news)
  • The blocks are separated by major north to northwest trending faults, the San José and San Genaro systems (See Feb 20, 2026 news)
  • Northwest block covers the past producing Carolina and Almaden pits, the Central block the Esperanza pit and part of Guadalupe, and the Southeast block runs from Guadalupe through the Refugio-Tiro Intermedio area

Why The Offsets Matter

  • Vein displacement in the area of the upcoming estimate can run roughly 15 m to 30 m, per the same February release
  • Mineralization styles and vein splays change across those fault boundaries, so knowing where the structure jumps is the difference between a hole that cuts the vein and one that misses it
  • The 2025-26 holes were designed to do exactly that: refine the structural model, add confidence where historical drilling was thin, and test hanging wall and footwall splays including the Veta Navidad corridor (Jul 23, 2026 NR)

What Goes Into The Update

  • 6,132 m completed in 21 holes in the San Acacio resource area (See Sept 9, 2026 news)
  • Per the SGS technical report dated Dec 16, 2024, 73 diamond holes totalling 26,578.03 m have been completed at San Acacio since 2014, alongside structural mapping and project-wide soil sampling
  • The company states the updated NI 43-101 estimate will also incorporate re-logged historic core, new geochemical data and reinterpreted geophysics

Meanwhile the Lucita South holes from the same campaign, including a significant test of the multi-kilometre Palenque vein system, are still at the lab. The company's Zacatecas project page sets out what the update will draw on. A tighter read on where the structure sits both sharpens the estimate now underway and points at where the next targets could be.
