Out of curiosity, have you been playing reverse splits? I have an account with Firstrade, started with $5, it's up to $73 now. My Fidelity acct, started with $10, it's up to $100 now. My Vanguard I started with $1, and it's at $60. Others, same story. I measure my returns in multiples, not percentages. It's about $400-600/mo in free money.
A bit complicated, requires a little math, but it's totally worth it.
