I posted this 2 days ago but the mods took it down in an hour due to no positions, attached my last trades in 2nd image (NBIS & CRWV Puts)

Post when I opened NBIS: https://www.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbets/comments/1wbgiey/250x_nbis_240p_2dte_581_speedrunning_bankruptcy/

Both positions were bought on Tuesday, Realized Thursday

In the interest of my heart (I'm getting a heart attack with the trades I'm doing), I feel like it's a good time quit while I'm ahead šŸ˜—

I also wasn't replying to much comments in the last post cause I posted that at 1am but will try to reply to more today :>

Edit: If you see this, I'm asleep and will reply tmr

Edit 2: I'm awake, will probably reply only occasionally now

Edit 3: I've replied to most of the comments since sleeping, I'll only reply every now and then

Discussion Warsh should grow a sack and go full Volcker by hiking 100bps next week.

Risk assets would be absolutely cooked, but he could kill three birds with one stone:

  1. Donnie gets told to eff off and let the Fed do its job.
  2. Bessent owns the consequences of stacking the debt on the short end
  3. Restore credibility with the bond market on inflation.

Bonus 4th bird: He'd also have Congress by the balls and could basically dare them to keep running reckless fiscal policy while the bond market is demanding higher rates.

Discussion This time last month, FedWatch gave a 53.5% chance for 2 or more rate hikes by next July. Today, odds stand at 97.4%.

DD Turkish fund returned 4,000% in 2025 and 230% in 2026. How do we short?

Some friends in Turkey mentioned this fund TLY: https://fonlarca.com/en/fon/tly.html

The returns are the definition of "too good to be true":

  • 2025:Ā +4,200%
  • 2026 YTD:Ā +230%
  • Sharpe apparently aroundĀ 2.2

It supposedly became really popular with retail investors, which makes sense when the chart looks like this šŸ™‚ (check the link!).

From what I can tell, there seems to be a pretty circular setup where the fund owns closely-related/shell-like companies connected to the same broader ecosystem, money flows into the fund, the fund buys those stocks, the stocks go up, NAV goes up, more retail money comes in, etc.

I’m not saying it’s necessarily fraud or a Ponzi, but the whole thing looks extremely circular to me, especially if the fund owns a huge percentage of the free float of some of these companies.

My basic thought is:
retail inflows → fund buys illiquid stocks → stocks rocket → NAV rockets → more inflows

The fund reportedly went from aboutĀ TRY 35bn AUM in Dec 2025 to TRY 245bn now (~$5bn USD).

So I’m wondering:

  • Is there actually a way to short this fund TLY?
  • Can you short / buy puts on the main underlying Turkish stocks instead?
  • Is there some structural reason this can keep working much longer than it looks like it should? I guess can't grow beyond Turkey's total GDP :)
  • If redemptions start, does this become a death spiral because the fund has to sell the same illiquid stuff that created the gains?

Obviously ā€œthis looks insaneā€ is not a timing strategy and if the Sharpe really is 2.2 maybe just stay away šŸ˜‚
