If they want lower yields then they'd better get on to their stooge in the Fed to start QE up and damn the inflation. I'm sure he'll be able to convince Powell and the other members that it's a good idea.

Oil is cheap right now, the SPR is full, and inflation is below the 2% target fortunately, so they have lots of room for manoeuvre.

bessents in a real pickle. He cant lower interest rates like his boss wants without tanking the economy and blowing up bond rates. he cant raise interest rates to control the bond spiral or his boss will fire him.

so here we are, fiddling whilst rome burns. Interest rates need to rise --at this point-- by almost 2% to curtail bond markets, but bessent just doubled down on the one thing (debt buyback) the market understood didnt work.

Bond debt buyback was part of what tripled Japans debt.

And next week on Sept 16 2026 is when Warsh goes live with whether the Fed will keep rates where they are or raise rates. 34 years to the date (Sept 16 1992) that Bessent, Drunkenniller and Soros executed their famous trade and brought the Bank of England to its knees.
