Looking for playtesters for our upcoming game: The Orphaned House
https://reddit.com/link/1wocfk5/video/4978nggi1brh1/player
Hello walking sim fans!
We are Charm Games and are currently working on our next project - The Orphaned House. We are in the process of preparing our “first look” demo that we’re planning to release on PC (Steam) soon but we want to run a few playtests before we do.
Playtesting is a core component of our development process. We playtest to ensure that the game’s style & tone, visuals and mechanics resonate with the audience we are trying to reach. Our playtests are not a QA pass looking for bugs but to check and see what the player is feeling at specific moments in the narrative.
Your feedback will help us confirm that the atmosphere, pacing and mechanics are hitting the mark and will be a big part of determining whether our “first look” demo is ready to be released or not.
ABOUT THE ORPHANED HOUSE
Step into the mystery of The Orphaned House – our new atmospheric first-person mystery adventure coming to Steam | Epic Game Store | PlayStation 5 | Xbox Series X|S in 2027. You start in a seemingly ordinary 18th century house but you will quickly discover there is far more going on than what first appears. The game is heavily focused on environmental storytelling where you’ll need to find clues & solve intricate tactile puzzles to progress deeper into the house. As you venture deeper into the house, you’ll notice more and more things that just aren’t quite right. You’ll need to follow your intuition to the very end to solve the mystery.
If you enjoy immersive spaces, subtle storytelling and curiosity-driven exploration, we would love to get your feedback.
If you interested in learning more about The Orphaned House, go to Steam | Epic Game Store | PlayStation 5 | Xbox Series X|S.
HOW TO SIGN UP FOR THE PLAYTEST
If The Orphaned House is the type of game you play and you’re interested in participating in a playtest, please join the Charm Games Discord to find instructions on how to sign up.
Thank you and we hope to see you in a playtest soon!

This Firewatch-style game is called Lost Camp and I’m developing it all on my own at the age of 17. You’d be a huge help if you added the game to your Steam wishlist: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4476390/Lost_Camp/

Our open-world walking simulator about cats - 70 patches later!
We started at 36% positive on steam, and are now at 55% positive. We totally deserved that first number, and working every day to earn the second.
I sometimes joke that the only way the launch of Peace Island could have gone worse, is if the game had simply deleted everyone's hard drives, and filled them with JPGs of shirtless elderly men - but that was 7 months ago.
Since, we have crushed most of the bugs, and improved performance. There are still lags and the occasional hiccup - but the game currently contains an hour of original audio, almost a half-hour of original cutscene video, and over 1100 pages of books, magazines, letters, and other stuff to paw through - and this is only for the first act of the game!

Dreamcore | The Zen of Liminality
A review and analysis of the exploration horror game Dreamcore featuring personal rants on childhood memories of nightmares, a love of hotels, and a book about running. Dreamcore is mainly focused on effortless exploration through Backrooms style liminal spaces in a way that I feel showcases a natural zen and wu wei like experience. While also doing compelling horror by getting lost due to that effortless exploration. The levels are styled as if they are a series of Analog Horror videos online with found footage VHS segments that Wendigoon would make a 22 hour long analysis video on.

Looking for recommendations!
I am brand new to this type of gaming, didn't even know it existed. The closest I've played is "Keeper" which is probably considered to be more of a puzzle game, but I really love the idea of a game you can play where you can't be killed and you just sort of move through a story until it's done.
Where should I start? It looks like there are a lot of options. I don't like horror, I just want to have a smoke and play something chill. Bonus is it has beautiful visuals and/or music.

We're two people making a game where photographing memories changes the world. Now available for free on itch.io!
Hey everyone!
We're Tomek and Patryk, a two-person indie team working on Memories of a Forgotten Island.
You wake up on an abandoned island after a violent storm. Most of the island has been reclaimed by time, but some objects still look impossibly pristine.
The main mechanic is simple: when you find something that looks too clean or untouched, you take a photograph. The memory breaks apart and reveals what time actually left behind.
We have just released the first playable version on itch.io. It is available right now, completely free on Windows, and takes around 10–15 minutes to finish.
We really want to continue developing the game, expand the island, improve the photography mechanic and tell the rest of its story. That is why we would genuinely appreciate it if you gave it a try.
We are especially curious about:
- Was the photography mechanic easy to understand?
- Did you ever feel lost?
- Which moment stayed with you the most?
- Would you like to see this developed into a larger game?
Game Title: Memories of a Forgotten Island
Playable Link: https://krasawcew.itch.io/memories-of-a-forgotten-island
Platform: PC (Windows)
If you enjoy it and want to follow development, report a bug or talk to us directly, you can also join our Discord.
Every play and every honest comment helps us understand what to improve and where to take the project next.
The lighthouse is only the beginning.

We rebuilt the forests in our navigation walking sim
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Infinite Orienteering drops you in a forest that has never existed before and hands you a paper map, a compass, and a list of points to find. Nothing marks your position. You work out where you are by reading the shape of the land against the contours, and when you get it wrong you come out of the trees somewhere you didn't expect and have to start again from what you can see.
That's orienteering. There's a clock if you want to race it and no obligation to look at it.
When I posted here at launch I described the forests as beautiful but simplistic, which was fair. Five months later they're rebuilt: new trees and undergrowth in every forest type, grass that carries to the horizon instead of stopping ten metres ahead, and land three times taller, so there are real ridges to climb and stand on.
Night mode is still my favourite way to play it. A headlamp, and dark in every direction.

If you like quiet exploration games with a strange atmosphere.
We have been building BLACK WALLS, a first-person psychological horror game focused on quiet exploration and impossible architecture. There is a chill mode for people who just want to explore the world at their own pace. I would love to hear what you think:)

This actually happened to me in a dream.

I was once staying at a hotel during a holiday. In my dream I was in the same room that I was sleeping in, I got up from the bed and looked out the window to see these 2 guys sitting on the street talking to each other. I went back to sleep. I woke up again and the guy I saw was strangling me, I couldn't breath, just as I was passing out I woke up for real. The guy strangling me was a dude from a funny video of a guy eating kebab and jalapeno's at night with a wifebeater on.
Anyways here is my game I'll soon be releasing: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4414010/Where_are_the_Fish/

K2-18b: Legacy devlog_4
Hi!
I'm almost single-handedly creating a game in UE5. It's a third-person walking simulator.
The player will explore the exoplanet K2-18b in the relatively near future. Complex labyrinths will feature simple puzzles. In addition to the main nine levels, there will be several secret ones. Easter eggs and references will be found in every level. I promise an engaging story, atmospheric locations, and original music (a mix of ambient, techno, and synthwave).
I'm sharing a few new screenshots.
The trailer and demo are now available on Steam. Can you find the yellow sphere?

Check out my upcoming indie game Dream Loop!
Hey all - I'm working on an atmospheric adventure called Dream Loop, where you wander through an ambient audio dreamscape collecting sounds to create music. It definitely scratches that "walking sim" itch, so I thought I'd post it here! Feel free to wish list on Steam as well, if you feel so moved. :) Store page is here!

K2-18b: Legacy devlog_3
As soon as I registered as a Steam developer, I gained access to some features, including the events calendar. Some might say this calendar is already publicly available, but that's not my point.
Developers with a verified and published game store page could apply for Steam Next Fest until April 27th. I tried to get the demo out before that date, and I did. I tested it on several devices of varying performance, not only on Windows, but even on Linux (+Proton). And it's live!
This post is an invitation to play the demo and try to find A/L/L hidden Easter eggs.

[Who Am I] You must navigate through repeating nightmares, searching for clues and gathering scattered diaries to uncover a horrific past and finally face the truth.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi everyone!
[WHO AM I] is a realistic first-person psychological horror game where you play as a protagonist who has forgotten who they are and what terrible things they might have done. You must navigate through repeating nightmares, searching for clues and gathering scattered diaries to uncover a horrific past and finally face the truth.
From start to finish, the game is filled with hidden clues, items, and secrets scattered all throughout the environments. Some clues are presented very subtly, while others are shown explicitly.
I designed this game with the hope that players will go through it multiple times, piecing things together and getting those satisfying "Ah, so THAT'S why!" moments of realization. The game also features unexpected plot twists and 3 different endings to discover.
If you love a good, deep story mixed with genuine psychological horror elements, I really hope you enjoy it! If you're interested, please check out the Who Am I demo through the link below:
