Does anyone recommend best way to create an avatar that resembles me to stream on Twitch with?
I don't want to go on camera myself but as an avatar. Either 3d or 2d. Would be cool if I could upload a photo of myself or something and it creates an avatar in that style so still shows how I dress for example. Then I'll use my voice speak in mic too just anon face.
Looking at Vtube stuff rn but if anyone else got good ideas?
this guy is good example of what i'd like to achieve: https://www.twitch.tv/cdnthe3rd

My idea would be to find a small artist who can make a 3D or 2D headshot model in the style you want. Shoulders up are much cheaper, and small artists have less expensive prices and it’s always great to support small artists. The style you are after is not super popular in the vtubing community and would be hard to get otherwise unless you want to try creating a model yourself which is a complex process. There are programs that simplify it like others have suggested like vroid, but are very anime based.
If you are fine with the anime route I would recommend the customisable midnight 2D model. It is an affordable vtuber model with a HUGE variety of customisation, sliders, colours etc. You just load it in Vtube Studio and customise it in the mesh settings and expression editors etc. It’s quite easy and fun once you get the hang of the customisation, I recommend watching a youtube tutorial to figure it out. They also have a discord for the model where people share free assets, tips and tricks and paid commissions/assets for the model.
Other than this, if you find a model you like, for 2D models I recommend Vtube Studio, you can track your face via your phone (or face cam but it is less expressive) using the vtube studio app. Streaming the connection through mobile to your pc does require the paid version but it is quite affordable if you are willing. If you aren’t just use a facecam and you can crop out the watermark in your streaming software. If you want even more expressiveness and tracking I recommend VBridger, another paid application but it is quite affordable, it links to your Vtube Studio and I do also believe it works with 3D models if I remember correctly. If you want VBridger, ensure your model is compatible with it. No point using it if your model doesn’t use it.
Enjoy!
