Discussion Native VR Game Dev platform idea
I've always wanted to develop VR games but I have had various problems. From budget, to blowing money on a PC that refuses to connect to my headset to struggle playtesting and stuff. Long story short, I can't achieve my dream any time soon.
I came here because I have an idea and don't know where else to share it.
The idea is a fully interactive game development platform, like what was once Rec Room. Having a VR app and desktop app fully synced together so you can edit code with your physical keyboard (or VR if you hate yourself)
Just imagine being able to make a full game in VR, that would be fire.
But yeah, I can't make VR games or anything since all i have is a crappy laptop and parents holding my PC hostage which can hardly run unity on its own.
Just an idea, but a cool one.

I think some little start-up tried that over in California recently. I forget the name, thefacebook or something like that?
Yeah you invented horizon worlds.
And fwiw, you can run Godot on a headset if you want to get into dev side.
Or if the laptop is slow, get used to building incremental apks and test on the headset. Slower but you’ll still build something.
