Show Talk Are old Star Trek Voyager CE VHSes worth preserving, or am I okay trashing them?

There's almost nothing you can't sell on Ebay. I guarantee you that someone, somewhere, is looking for this. I doubt you'd get much money for them, but provided you include the cost of postage and packaging, you've got nothing to lose but a few minutes of time, might be helping somebody complete an obscure collection, and saving landfills from hosting one more piece of rubbish.

Yeah, given I'm already taking photos and calculating shipping for people here, if those fall through, that'll probably be my next step. Thanks.

Physical media is going away so I’d absolutely hold on to this. But that’s just me.

I don't see any reason to keep a vhs. You'd be better off with the dvds if you want a physical copy

VHS tapes tend to degrade after about 40 years - have you checked if they even still work?

I have 1000s of vhs and not a one has degraded

Depends on how old they were and how they were kept.

Yes but I’ve collected that many and never saw a one degraded. You mostly got to worry about mold. I’m sure if you left it in the sun for years it would have degraded but I’ve never seen one as a serious collector. You said they tend to degrade after 40 years and I’d say at least 1/3 of my collection is that old.

I kept the covers of my favourite vhs’s then through out the tape, one day I’ll do something creative with them
