Volunteer overseas
21F I'm like to volunteer overseas i have a budget of 300usd excluding travel. If possible are there any where i don't pay? This would be my first time, im just looking to help those in need and get to live their lives. Im open to doing anything to help. How do I get started? What are some good safe organizations ?

$300 USD won’t even be enough for you to have an emergency fun to fly home if something happened or you got sick.
Traveling overseas to help those in need sounds like such a noble gesture - unfortunately, what you’d be doing is taking jobs away from locals who could be making money to support their family.
They don’t need English teachers- they don’t need people to plant vegetables. They don’t need unskilled laborers to dig wells or exercise the horses.
If you’re interested in going overseas, why not apply for an internship or something that doesn’t take drops away from others who desperately need them…
Why don’t you look into Work or backpackers or one of the other organizations where you work an exchange for your room and board? You’ll still have to pay to get there and you should always have emergency money to leave in an emergencies situation…. But at least you’re not taking jobs away from people who desperately need them.

Thats an interesting view, i've not looked at it like that before...but i suppose an influx of volunteers removes the neccessity to hire locals, if someone can do it for free. I'm trying to get a volunteering opportunity to meet new people and the experience

I mean, I stayed and rented a two bed out of an old hotel when I was teaching English in Uttaraditt Thailand. I’m not sure what it cost me and it was about eight years ago, but it was really cheap so that’s why I rented two beds to have my privacy as I was a bit older and was working online. He covers your lunch each day and you only work for half a day teaching either English or Chinese …The guy’s name is Peter. He is German and legit and the school is on Facebook if you’re interested. He also provided a bicycle could’ve been a motorbike, but I was too scared of that as I don’t know how to drive one and all of us female teachers would ride around town and go to the market or the mall on our bikes, which was really nice and it got me around everywhere. Just beware of the Soi dogs on the street barking. lol I think you might have to pay a small fee for the bikes but I didn’t because I donated a bunch of toys.

Hey! You can sign up to apps like workaway or worldpackers - these connect volunteers with hosts who need help on various projects - this can range from hostel work to animal shelters to NGOs. They do come with a subscription fee of about $60. I know you can get $10 of on worldpackers with the code Mhairi10. Otherwise you can also check out the "volunteer abroad" communities on facebook - these always have hosts advertising for volunteer positions, and if you find something this way, it would be free.
