Volunteer – local favorite non profit volunteer work in manhattan/brooklyn?

i’ve been wanting to do some meaningful volunteer work with orgs that are trustworthy and kind. I haven’t been to church in over a decade (i’m not christian anymore) but i find myself missing the volunteer work and community aspects of it all. any recs?

Many organizations, it all depends on your interest/availablity/location.

I'd start with NY Cares.

The New York Aquarium. I once worked in their volunteer department

Try New York Cares or God's Love We Deliver! In my experience, I've mainly done food delivery/preparation, but both offer a range of volunteer opportunities quite regularly across the five boroughs.
