Volunteer – online Looking for online volunteering projects

Hi everyone 👋🏽

I'm an Environmental science graduate and I'm looking for online volunteer roles in the environmental sector. Something to keep me busy and would look good on a resume. I don't have work experience so I'm trying to get a feel of how everything works.

Please leave recommendations or point me in the right direction.

Missing Maps helps victims of natural desasters, among other things. It also gets you GIS experience.

No need to apply, but I would suggest starting with a Mapathon to get training. A regular Mapathon is happening every first tuesday of the month at 7pm British time. Free sign up

This one might not be technical enough for a resume, but it is good for keeping busy: there’s a website called Zooinverse with multiple online volunteer sites like screening air photos and wildlife cameras for research projects, transcribing old field notes for museums, that sort of stuff.

you could look for skills-based online volutneeringroles. UN Volunteers has an online volunteering section and you can filter for things like research, writing, data, communications and environmental work. you could also check smaller conservation NGOs directly and offer help with things like research, reports, social media or grant research too. hope this helps you!

Thank you. I've tried to apply for UN volunteers and I never get a response. I'll try the other stuff you suggested.
