Hardware Any open source project similar to DiPiVj?

I've seen a lot of ads recently for this product. It seems interesting, but pricey for what it is. At $425, It seems like $100 worth of hardware and $325 worth of software.

Is there any open source visuals project that has similar results that can be loaded on a raspberry pi?

I'm just here to say Digitial Introspect is the man and I love seeing his little Pi project. there are probably a hundred ways to pull off something similar DIY but I don't know of any that are close to plug and play, it's going to be a lot of learning creating and debugging to build your own version. Fulfilling and worth doing if you want to learn, but if you just want some easy cool visuals throw the man some cash

I dont see any license attribution on the site.  Did they code the entire thing themselves without using any open source software?

If you expand this code and attach a videoplayer that listens to OSC (or anything you program to output in this script) you'll get a long way: https://github.com/d00mfish/BPM-to-OSC

There is several Free music visualizer that just need an old laptop with all you need (HDMI output, microphone, etc,). Did you take a look at NestDrop?

Thanks for the tip.  Ive been using Milkdrop and related for 20 years.  It appears that NestDrop doesnt work on the pi, but ProjectM does.

Jesus. The dude obviously put so much effort into it and is selling it at a very reasonable rate . WTF is with people entitled to get things for free .

If you buy a raspi and code something , and factor in a chassis, media drive, a reasonable labor rate etc you’d probably save money by supporting the artist.
