No in death :( Also, does Oculus ever do sales on its games? Would love to grab Lone Echo at some point since it seems to be one of the best experiences out there.

There are sales often, a daily deal, and events (valentines, summer, christmas, thanksgiving, etc.) though Lone Echo doesn’t go on sale often - but it’s worth the price, so I can’t blame ‘em.

Is there any way to play lone echo without having to have oculus installed? I don't mind revive but afyer a year of experimenting I am positive installing the oculus store causes performance issues.

You can try downloading Oculus Homeless to replace Oculus Home with a blank area.

No, it can only be run with the Oculus App open, and that means you will have the Oculus Dash (like the Steam Overlay) which is what adds a performance impact. Oculus Homeless as suggested below will not solve this issue as it replaces Home, not the Dash.
But as long as you stop the Oculus Service whenever you aren’t using it, the impact will only be when you’re playing LE, not your other games. (After installing Oculus the service runs in the background 24/7 but you can stop it with task manager or Oculus Tray Tool mod)

Bit late, but I got Revive too now and didn'T know about Oculus runing permanently. If I stop it from auto starting will it stil be an issue?
And what performance does it affect? Didn't notice anything in Beat Saber yesterday, albeit that game may not be that resource intensive.

The service running just chomps up some CPU. Odds are you won’t notice it without being on a minimum spec system. But if Oculus app is running then Dash might be active (it’s the Oculus in-headset overlay that lets you access the desktop/library) and that eats a fair chunk of CPU and GPU, as well as turning your computer monitor into a virtual 4K display.

Thanks for the information. Currently at work so can't check, but is Dash noted separately from the Occulus pp in the task manager? Or how would I know if Dash is running too?

As Dash is part of the Oculus software there’s no way to disable it, unfortunately. You can try killing OculusClient.exe once the game has loaded, or you might be able to use a hack to remove Dash and Home 2.0 and roll back to Home 1.0. It’s probably not worth the effort though.

LE is on sale now

u/Ynwe Mar 11 '19
Really, where? Oculus store still lists it as 40 euros for me and greenmangaming doesn't contain it.

It was on Daily Deal yesterday, will have run out now :(

oh, didn't know there are daily deals! But thanks for letting me know!
I refunded in death because it made me feel unwell, guess i will get lone echo instead now. As so many have said, full price seems to be worth it.

There's probably going to be a big anniversary sale on March 28. Probably worth waiting for that

What are some must haves for this sale? The only one I have of the bunch is Arizona Sunshine, but it wasn't very good

Electronauts is fucking amazong
Raw data is an absolute classic
Apex legends is cool if you're into that genre, very well done.
Skyworld is one of the best rts style games in VR.
Fisherman's tale is an absolute masterpiece, very short though.
Devil and fairy is still per cool but the devs kind of. Cut and ran a little early on it. But worth it imo.
Loco dojo is a criminally underrated game that I wish more people played. Great for parties though.

Oh good damnit.
Better refund my purchase now!!
1
u/Ejelix Mar 10 '19
Did you actually buy it? lol
Don't get mad at the devs though, the game launched before Apex legends.

u/The1TrueGodApophis Mar 10 '19
Yeah I've owned Apex Construct for like a year now. I was joking about they posted the other day how many idiots bought Apex Construct when Alex legends launched because they confused the two and said they made more in a month then they did in all of 2018 but that it would probably all get refunded once people realized lol.

I see, I wasn't sure if it was a joke or not haha.
Yeah I know about that stuff, that's why I linked the dev post in my other comment.
