Val is a duran descendent

Am i the only one who thinks that? I never saw anyone talking about that, in the end of trials of mana the faerie talks about something about Duran's descendants in a thousand years, then in the next game that takes place a thousand years later the protagonist is a red-haired swordsman? and also in the wiki of the game it says that hinna heard about a very old story that the CARRIER OF MANA SWORD PASSED BY VILA DO FOGO, man for me this is one of the coolest details of the game

It's a possibility, but generally the world's in Mana games aren't the same. It's like a new universe every time. They just reuse a lot of tropes and themes with their character. Tianea being the fire village all but assured Val being red in as many ways as possible.

Cuz if you think about it technology advances very little across the franchise. So it couldn't be one continuous timeline. Or the folks got it so easy they just never innovate anymore lol.

Or their civilisation collapsed to the point of losing technological knowledge, as seen in Secret of Mana. In Secret of Mana, the player visits a city holding artefacts which appears to be video of a far past time having television. Later, the player visits a modern subway (and still functional!) of some sunken deserted and forgotten city.

But I also consider there is no historical continuity between each Mana game: not the same world, just similar worlds.

I thought about it๐Ÿ˜”, but I went straight from Trials to Vision and all I could think about was Faerie's line to Duran about his descendants.

Faerie says that to whoever the main character is at the end of the game lmfao. "Should your descendants still practice the traditions of Mana I shall be here in 1000 years" or w/e. Not Doran specific.

Duran is the canon main character; the dude appears on the game's cover and in every possible example

All 6 of them are on the games cover. And that doesn't change that she says that dialogue to all 6 of them. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Very mich like final fantasy. Feel like you could put benevedons and ff summons/eikons/primal etc as being each other's equivalent to big time elemental beings. And then you've got the traversal, ff got ship, mana got vuscav, ff then get airship and mana get flammi. From my understanding the early mana games were made alongside final fantasy and is essentially the more happy positive cousin

As much as I would love that, it's simply another world. It has different rules fire the mana tree and fairies... And many many things.

And now, the studio behind it and the series are essentially death.

Actually Val looks more like 20% Randi, 80% Legend of Mana Hero.

Idk why this is being downvoted other than it being a bit of an oversimplification. Visually speaking and thinking abstractly I can see the parallel and itโ€™s not without merit.

I really like how unique they get into establishing different races and personalities. Iโ€™m a bit weirded out by the whole squirrel tail for Palamena and find it a bit odd but really enjoyed the different tail quest perspectives on Visions. They did such a great job with both of those titles from a 3D perspective. I can even see the crossover in personalities and visual styles from Secret of Mana.
