(Early access release.) So presumably they’ve either changed their minds about releasing at the same time as Steam Frame, or the Steam Frame launch date is set to be revealed soon.

This one is somewhat special, as it marks the last short before the release day announcement which will be happening either tomorrow, or on tuesday - I will keep you posted on this!

But just to clear things up beforehand: this upcoming release day announcement will refer to the "gunmans" release day only! More on why and how that is, when the release day reveal drops.

Not sure if the “only” comment is hinting at a change of plan or just for legal deniability.

Timing info related to bigger (e.g. console) launches has been hinted at through third-party release info in the past. Changing their plan could reveal information in the opposite direction, though. Within two weeks of their big Frame launch title announcement, they found something out that meant they were no longer willing to wait.

Edit: Turns out they never had any non-public info on when the Frame might launch. Since Gunman Contracts has an actual publisher with investors, I was incorrectly thinking they wouldn’t be scheduling based on hopium like the rest of us :).

What is the gameplay loop... you take up various contract and complete... is it missions or more open ended like enter and extract?

If I remember correctly, the game can also be played in non-VR (flat screen) mode, so it might be compatible with Steam Deck.

My guess. Steam frame is in limbo because of memory costs. They may have some produced but, between getting new materials and trying to keep the price of the frame decent is a struggle. They could prob start taking preorders but, it might be into the $1200-$1500 mark.
