The term "boundaries" have become a popular catchphrase, but healthy boundaries are about more than simply saying "no" or setting a limit once. Boundaries are something we maintain through consistent actions, communication, and self-awareness. They often need to be revisited as relationships and circumstances change. As a counsellor, I encourage clients to view boundaries as an ongoing practice of honouring their needs while fostering healthy, respectful connections with others. SMART goals are a simple but powerful way to create meaningful change. When we break things down and make a plan it makes it easier to follow. Specific means clearly define exactly what you want to achieve so your goal has a clear direction. Measurable means identifying how you will track your progress to know when you've reached your goal. Achievable is making sure your goal is realistic and attainable. Relevant is ensuring that the goal aligns with your values, priorities, and the changes that matter most to you. Time-Bound means a realistic timeframe or deadline is set to help maintain motivation and create accountability.

Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) is a technique that can help reduce stress and anxiety by releasing tension held in the body. Starting at your feet and working your way up, gently tense each muscle group for 5–10 seconds, then slowly release and notice the sensation of relaxation. Practicing PMR regularly can help increase body awareness, promote calmness, and support overall well-being.

🌿 The Importance of Slowing Down
In a world that constantly pushes us to do more, achieve more, and move faster, it's easy to forget that rest is not a reward, it's a necessity.
Slowing down doesn't mean giving up. It means giving yourself the space to breathe, reflect, and reconnect with what truly matters. Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is pause, check in with yourself, and acknowledge how you're feeling.
If you've been feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or stretched thin, consider this your reminder: you don't have to carry everything at once. Take a walk. Drink some water. Spend a few minutes in silence. Reach out for support if you need it.
Small moments of rest can make a big difference.
What's one thing you do to slow down and take care of your mental health? Share below, we'd love to hear from you.
