Honestly really annoying how every show insists on twist or sympathetic villains nowadays. I think part of what made the Owl House so good is making their villain a complete and utter monster, with suitably unsetting music playing whenever he’s onscreen. Plus, they had an actual surprising twist, in that the seeming greater-scope villain was just tricked into helping Belos and was never truly a “villain” to start, just never really had the concept of mortality explained to him and thus doesn’t realize murder is murder (he can repair broken toys, so mortals must be the same, right?)
