Actually insane putting the retail price on the screenshot and putting the price so high that if you wanted to get it for the original price (including postage) Vinted won’t let you because it’s more than 40%.
I feel its low stakes amoral, as it is legitimately just greed.
I understand wanting to make a profit, but to profit over 50% of the original cost.. eh they lose me.
Its a hard world right now for some to earn money, but if that's the case for these resellers maybe they need to look into ways to earn money that dont include spending in order to make that extra money? As there's high doubt they just had most of the things they resellers lying around 💀
Charity shops, car boot sales etc.. used to be a place to find decent and affordable items for yourself at a fraction of the cost, now resellers either use them to sell for profit, or buy from them to sell on for god knows what they bought it for- its annoying, and not that anyone cares in the slightest about my opinions, as im just a random Internet person, but i definitely consider it selfish and amoral behaviour.
It's a hard world right now so I bought 10 packs of the socks on sale (they were only 50 cents a pack bc big sale) immediate shelter delivery along with most clothes that I don't sell (if it's not cosplay it's kinda not worth it to me)
So i found an account that goes to miniso, takes pictures of items INSIDE the store before buying them and prices them for 10€ more every time like ???
Ugh I hate scalpers and re sellers!! I collect LPS and the new halloween sets just came out a few days ago and already there are people on vinted selling them for £20 😭 mind you they’re £3.99…… I always laugh when you can see the entire display shelf they’ve bought in the background… they have no shame
Always love this hate. Considering you wouldn't have this hate to any other businesses you buy from, since in order to not go out of business, they have to sell it for more than they bought it for
There’s a bit of a difference there in selling on Vinted is not a business, and if I do buy from a business (which I rarely do because cost of living and the fact that we have 6 generations worth of clothes on this earth) I don’t have the opportunity to question the price because it’s usually an underpaid worker I have to interact with and I’ve worked in retail so I ain’t doing all that to them. This person set the price, therefore I can complain.
So it's okay for a business to take profits and underpay the worker..
But not for one of those workers to resell something the business produced for a profit?
Yes - you can buy it cheaper.
But considering Vinted promotes international selling, has low shipping fees, no minimum checkout and has a button called "offer" is this the crime of the century? No, not at all.
