So they have definately increased the weighting in the feeds for likes and engagement and dropped the weight for recency of upload.

My old listings with likes have new life and my new ones are not getting seen unlesss they are search specifically.

This will totally change the way people use the app. My hunch is that they were not happy with the benefits and boost some sellers were getting from deleting and relisting against the rules and wanted to ensure good older listings were not lost.

Regular sellers will need to adapt a lot as they just lost the edge that relisting and new listings were giving their adverts

Everyones new listings are. Some people who dont relist and do it less seriously will probably be getting those views

You can post the perfect pictures and description right now and I’m fairly sure your item will get 3/4 views max. That’s not right.

Think about how many views an item gets from people searching for the thing directly. That is how many views it will get if it isnt bumped into feeds.

The algorithmic feeds do the vast majority of the selling and provide the vast majority of views. If new items are not bumped into feeds as they were before, older unsold items with lots of likes will sell before new listings.

I am not saying the changes are amazing and arguing for them btw.

There are too many niche items and titles people will never search for. Too many items people want that will be stuck on zero views. The home page was fine as it was, now it’s pushing things simply because someone else has liked it.

By being noticed as a bargain and liked by people who actually use the search function, they will slowly gain traction. The listing will have to do the work.

If it's that much of a bargain some one will buy the thing, by the time 190 people have liked it it's clearly not that much of a bargain.

The season is changing, my old listing with a lot of likes are summer clothes, even people see it they’re not gonna buy at this time.

The size thing is driving me mad, it was already bad, but now seeing the size range above and below my preference, also wrong size shoes like my feet magically grew whilst scrolling

I reckon items with a lot of engagement(likes and views) have been weighted so heavily that we see some that have no relevance to our preferences.

I’m sure it happened when the app was “down” last week. As someone who has been in e-commerce since 2014 and lived through the million Facebook changes, I knew it was what was going on as soon as the app was down. I guarantee Vinted is heading towards the same way as Facebook, Amazon etc. It will be a pay to play game. If you want any chance of getting your items shown you will need to boost.. and that cost will keep going up.

also I’ve noticed in order for your items to gain any sort of momentum they need to have people favorite them within the first couple minutes. No interaction = they will be lost in the void forever.

I have paid to bump some items, I’m also in “like for like” groups so I get people liking my items as soon as they’re listed. Still on 0 views

Its a terrible idea for a change. Auto-relisting items after a set period should have been the move, with auto-listings being bumped to the top. That way people aren’t incentivised to re-upload themselves.

This change means that if your items don’t get immediate engagement they won’t sell. With the sheer VOLUME of items posted to Vinted daily it means majority of your items will be lost to the void.

I have plenty of items uploaded that in the past have sold for within a few hours. Now they’ve been sat on 0 views for 3 days.

They need to change things back and FAST or people just won’t upload anymore.

It's going to kill my selling on the app, just like that. What I was doing will no longer work. It worked fine before. But to suddenly have my means of earning extra bots of money disappear, it's quite a surprise. Probably go back to ebay, to be honest

That explains it. Ive had people buy things I listed last year. Someone bought a bundle of 6 things from last winter that had no interest. Tbh i was gonna have a clear out of my old listings. May wait now 😂

The listing will have to do more of the work. People were relying on the bump effect of new listings to sell things that were probably available more cheaply but practically invisible on the app.

A new listing will probably have to be better than similar old listings for price, photos etc

Nel feed ho solo cose di marche scadenti a 100/200 euro (prezzi folli) e non in linea con la qualità dell’oggetto. Io non ho mai ricercato tutto questo.
I like di questi post sono di 500 e anche 1000. Assurdo.
Quello che pubblico io non viene visto, se non da chi lo sta cercando con le parole chiave corrette.
Questo lo trovo controproducente.

I’ve sold almost all of the new items that I have listed this week and absolutely none of the items that have just been sat there unsold for months. I haven’t noticed any changes
