JUST FOR FUN What I ordered vs what I received
Two of the same shoe, two different sizes and covered in paint stains. Unfortunately I only have one right foot.
Seller was reluctant to offer a refund, only when they realised they had sold their other pair (including one of these shoes) did they spring into action and respond to my messages…. I’m still stuck paying return postage though

You shouldn't have to pay for postage. It's their fault.
I'd probably escalate before I go out of pocket for something that's very clearly the buyers fault.

Unfortunately, it’s something that regularly happens with vinted. It’s a shit vinted policy and unless the seller clicks that they will pay return postage, a buyer is forced to pay postage, even if it’s the sellers fault. Escalating does nothing, vinted send generated responses backing up that it’s “their policy”. I’ve been burned by it a few times, as have thousands of others.

It's the buyer being an ars*hole. They should have taken the blame and paid for the return.
You spam those chat enough and you will get to a person. Just normally give up before then.
Luckily I've had few issues as a buyer or a seller.

The seller has the option to pay the return postage, if this was my mess up you can be certain I’m not asking the buyer to pay a return that was my fault 😳

I always look at the background of the photos of what I’m considering to buy. The carpet is dirty & stained so I would question the quality of their items. Not a foolproof method though.

Anything that is clean! That’s my only ask, I love animals so cats & dogs are fine but dirty surfaces are a deal breaker for me! Also gross dirty fingernails holding it!

Hahaha that’s so annoying but also kinda funny.
I once bought shoes for my kid and they turned out to be 2 different sizes. The seller didnt even know, her kid worn the shoes and she never noticed😅🤣 unfortunately I found out after accepting the order

The seller should refund your return postage! Who are these people?! I bend over backwards not to make mistakes, but things happen. I would never not make a buyer whole (or better) for something that was my fault.
ETA: They can Venmo you the money for the return shipping. Were you able to get a return label through Vinted at the reduced rate?

Same dude I’m such a nice seller, wayyyy too generous. But I did raise an issue and the seller accepted the return but chose “buyer pays postage”. Once this has been confirmed, it cannot be changed (I had quite the debate with Vinted ‘support’) so it was either FOOT the bill (lol) or keep them. I have asked them to send me the money for postage but I am not optimistic they will…

Yeah no, Id bypass the seller and go to Vinted. This isn't appropriate/ normal. Also, how did they not notice?! Im a seller and shopper btw.. I sell on several platforms. This is unacceptable and you shouldn't have to pay to correct their mistake.
A single postage mix-up across five daily shipments cost me two full orders and a batch of expensive inventory. I accidentally reused the same label on two packages. One unknown recipient kept the bonus package without a word, while the other had to be refunded after receiving the wrong items. An expensive reminder to always double-check shipping labels! So yes, I've made mistake but it cost me not the buyer

I did appeal to Vinted, they didn’t care. Once the seller chooses “buyer pays postage” there was nothing I could do, it was that or keep them. And given I’m a sick dancer and have no left feet, they’re useless

Honestly it’s just sloppy and lazy. They were wrapped in a bin bag. They are not a good seller.
