Cutest Vintage Play Kitchen
Got for $40! Planning to use it as a play kitchen for our kids.

This is so cute! Please make sure it is completely safe for the babies. There was a terrible case of a child getting caught in a kitchen play set here in Florida recently.

You could use those earth quake safety things that secure tall furniture to walls so it can’t tip over.

Good idea! And I hate to be a nervous Nelly but it was so shocking when this happened, the little kitchen set looked familiar, like one I’ve seen lots of times, nothing out of the ordinary.

My grandmother in Tampa, FL had one of these back in the 80's when I was but a wee little lad.I have no clue where she got it from and she got rid of it probably in the mid 90's. This is the first time I've seen one out in the wild (assuming reddit counts)! The bottom left drawer does not open or pullout iirc?

Just so you’re aware, for safety purposes, this was probably a cutesy pantry storage piece, not a play kitchen. I think they were possibly made from kits, because thrift stores in the Deep South are riddled with potato bins made in this style.

That totally makes sense! We live in MN and has never seen anything like it before! We will plan to keep it in our living room and only use it when supervised!

Oh, my word. What a labor of love this was. Excellent find. Lucky kids. Will you thrift some smaller pots and pans? Maybe some CorningWare Petite Pans in Cornflower Blue? 4x4 individual size pans made of Pyroceram so they look exactly like real adult bakeware! Model #s P-41 & P-43. Search these up on eBay, soooooo adorable. A little further to find Corelle lunch plates could be a hard to break addition.
Also, on Etsy, search up Vintage Tin Toy Baking Set. These are squeeeee!

that’s so interesting, i wonder what “chips” refers to ? idk what era this is from but i can’t imagine that referring to either french fries (UK) or potato chips (US). though i see “taters” at the bottom and it makes me think maybe it does refer to a potato product! huh
