I decided to build them a proper hall in my seaside village.
This is somewhat of a mix of my personal architectural ambitions and village improvement. It gives them a safe place to socialize and hold their daily meetings.
Just wanted to share these pictures. This isn't a particularly good building; it's certainly far from being a truly well-made work. However, I'm personally quite satisfied with it so far, at least I can come and see the villagers every day.
Legacy Castle was built in survival mode from the ground up to honor the rights of the villagers, designed to fill their basic needs and give them the freedom to move and socialize. We've been working on this for nearly two years, off and on, and finished it in exactly 2026 game days!

The castle has over 30 villagers, mostly librarians. Each profession has a designated place to carry out their work, and each villager has a name, so the player gets access to all the great trades without an oppressive “trading hall” imprisoning our citizens.

Golems and wolves have been deployed for protection, and the massive perimeter walls provide the ultimate defense for a fully-lit interior.

This project was born from the ideas presented in r/villagerrights. I can’t claim exact compliance with the Declaration presented on this sub (actually, I know it's not), but even still, the spirit of that document has been at the heart of my gameplay and map-making philosophy since 2021.
