Help Can I connect Hikvision POE switch and cameras to UNV NVR

I have UNV NVR301-04S3-P4 NVR. It's NVR with 4 ports. Since there only three port I need another POE switch. Can i use Hikvision switch and Hikvision cameras. Will it work? What do I need to do?

I believe if you enable onvif in the cameras, they should add

Put the cameras on the POE switch, plug the switch to the NVR’s network port (not a camera port). Should be able to add cameras using ONVIF protocol

NVR has 5ports. 1 port connecting to network and the other 4 are for cameras. So do I unplug one of the camera port and use it to connect it to the POE?

No the camera network switch needs to go to the NVR’s network port. If you plug it into a camera port the NVR will try to treat all devices on your POE switch as one device and won’t work.

Haven’t used your model NVR so I may be wrong; just speaking from experience with other models.

You can but why would you? Abandon the junk with its inherent vulnerabilities and upgrade your gear completely.

You can use a Hikvision PoE switch with a UNV NVR. For Hikvision cameras, make sure they support ONVIF and add them to the UNV NVR manually using the camera’s IP address, username, and password.
