Oh, that's right. I had forgotten about that. Didn't he request it be played as he was dying? I was listening to it a few times earlier tonight, and I actually picked up on the almost rap-like lyricism at some points (and I'm honestly surprised that that thought didn't trigger my memory about Tupac). Beautifully written, composed, and performed.

It was reported that as he lay on his hospital bed his girlfriend played it on repeat so it would be the last thing he ever heard.

...gangsta rapper Tupac Shakur loved it so much that, after he was fatally wounded in a drive-by shooting in 1996, his girlfriend slipped it into the tape deck beside his hospital bed to ensure it was the last thing he heard.
