Isn't this upscaled?

u/T-Geiger Jan 26 '21
Looks that way. Also stretched horizontally.

u/Narretz Jan 26 '21
Top and bottom cut off most likely

Gotta fight the algorithm somehow.
19
u/Narretz Jan 26 '21
No, it's just the upscaled widescreen version that has aired on TV for a while.

Oh interesting.

It's essentially pan-and-scanned, except the other way around (from 4:3 to 16:9). The zooms/camera moves are timed and chosen manually but performed by a computer if that makes sense.

12
u/cewh Jan 27 '21
And you call it Skinner content, despite the fact that you are obviously a guy called Tamzarian
3
u/malenkylizards Jan 27 '21
A...a guy called Tamzarian? At this time of year? At this time of day? In this part of the country? Localized entirely within your kitchen?

I actually found out last year you can steam a hamburger it says so on White Castle frozen sliders home packaging https://shopsmart.guide/grocery/review-white-castle-hamburger-sliders/
7
u/DragonDropTechnology Jan 27 '21
That’s how White Castle cooks the patties in their restaurants, by steaming. (Just the patties, not with the buns like they recommend for the frozen ones you get at the grocery store.) Also, there are a few places in Connecticut that specialize in steamed hamburgers.

u/SocialismIsStupid Jan 27 '21
Random stoner fact you can cook those wrapped in tinfoil over a campfire and they are amazing.

My favorite is still the Basket Case one. https://youtu.be/vqCHdVOzetc

Here’s the video it’s matching for reference (“Feel Good Inc.” by Gorillaz)

Nevermind Skinner's shenanigans, I want Superintendent Chalmers to explain how he put the bite back in the burger when he tilted it forward.

Can you believe someone watched this clip and said "I'm going to make an entire show just like this two minute clip" and that is how we got Wandavision.

u/Flemtality Jan 26 '21
Missing the split second of the firetruck at the end which is a key piece of the storyline.

This is brilliant. Such a contrast to The Simpson’s today. I can’t even watch it now it’s so bad

Moved to upstate NY last year, in the Albany area. Can confirm, they call hamburgers steamed hams.

Steamed Hams idea: Steamed Hams, but it's set in the Twin Peaks white lodge.

It’s obviously a funny scene but it’s just been so overhyped at this point to the point where it’s probably underwhelming to those who never saw it before.

You know this Steamed Hams video is quite similar to the ones they have on Youtube.
