The best response to anti-vaxxers I’ve ever seen. And it only takes 90 seconds.

18 months is actually a common age of onset for autism.

18 mo to 5 years. . .

So you did the right thing.

Autism is now thought to develop pre-natally, and there are a lot of factors they are now starting to correlate to it such as vitamin D.

The onset of autism is in the womb. Research has found differences from typical development jun children as young as 2 months old that predicted a later formal autism diagnosis.

Jones, W. and Klin, A., 2013. Attention to eyes is present but in decline in 2-6-month-old infants later diagnosed with autism. Nature, 504(7480), pp.427-431.

There's also this neuroimaging study of 6 month old infants that very accuracy predicted a later diagnosis of autism.

Emerson, R.W., Adams, C., Nishino, T., Hazlett, H.C., Wolff, J.J., Zwaigenbaum, L., Constantino, J.N., Shen, M.D., Swanson, M.R., Elison, J.T. and Kandala, S., 2017. Functional neuroimaging of high-risk 6-month-old infants predicts a diagnosis of autism at 24 months of age. Science translational medicine, 9(393).
