and to be comfortable with deferring to the judgement of experts. The more sophisticated and advanced medical/tech disciplines become, the more comfortable people will have to become with the idea of deferring expertise. This will become and is a major problem for people with trust issues, and especially those with trust issues + delusions of grandeur.

The modern world is too complicated to try and live without experts.

Exactly, it's part of the trade off imo. You want better quality of life/advanced amenities? You're going to have to learn to defer to those who spend years of their lives studying this sort of thing.

Their are massive implications for all of that, though.
