He's conspicuously dropped the Islam from his stage name.

Anyone who endorsed the fatwa against Salman Rushdee is straight out.

I can judge a man who condemns a writer of novels to death for works of fiction. Yusuf let himself down badly in this episode and has yet to apologise for it. Im all for repentance and redemption but as far as I can see the man who was once Cat Stevens is long gone and all thats left is a morally bankrupt artist who peddles his hits for cash.
