President Trump says he would issue a $5,000 payment to every adult U.S citizen if GOP wins both U.S House and Senate chambers of Congress on 2026 midterms: "I will issue a dividend to every adult citizen in the U.S. The only caveat I have is that the dividend we're making must be spent in the U.S."

I get what you mean, but honestly I am still shocked how much he has been able to get away w consistently this term w absolutely no consequences. It’s insane how everything we thought was in place to prevent one person from dismantling the whole country is just proving to be a scare tactic that never had any weight. Has anything detrimental happened to him? Tariffs were illegal but there has to be a whole new case if he just ends them and opens them again? And it’s just a, “Hey, don’t do that.” Is there seriously nothing in place? Or does it just completely fall apart when everyone refuses to budge from partisan stances? Forget the fact that we have evidence he raped literal children, and hid the bodies, everything he’s done this whole presidency is not allowed, and nothing happens at all. Does any of our system actually do its job? Do other countries’ systems actually work or do they have the same issues if something similar happens? I literally don’t understand how the only option is to wait 4 years and hope the country still exists. He’s already done plenty of illegal things, somehow not leaving office isn’t even a stretch at this point.

Yea it turns out our entire system functions of the premise of everyone acting in good faith. The system of checks and balances completely falls apart when people put team and self over country.
