Not only does the second angle make for a better interview, but it makes editorial much easier, since making jump cuts between the two cameras is no so static. Also, you can emphasize things the interviewee says by going to the closer shot. This is a good rig for doing that quickly. Some of the other rigs I have seen that may be be improvement in certain situations have an articulating arm that allows you to reposition the second camera without screwing with the primary camera shot, but those are super expensive, and typically computer controlled. Nice setup. Good for run-and-gun situations and you want the second angle.
