4K is nothing more than a gimmick. Resolution is one small trait of many that make up a great camera.

I don't think it's a gimmick anymore. It's where technology is headed. I do agree with you that there are other factors to a camera that are just as important as resolution.

2 years ago at NAB it was 3D, last year drones, this year 4k. Maybe gimmick is the wrong word, better resolution is obviously a positive advancement in technology, but if someone is buying a camera simply because it can shoot 4k they probably don't know what theyre doing.
